JLV is a mission-critical clinical application that aggregates real-time patient data from VA and DoD systems, enabling clinicians to access a unified longitudinal view of patient health information. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating containerized microservices in AWS ECS, designing enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines, implementing observability and SRE practices, and supporting secure, compliant, highly available cloud environments.\nThe candidate must reside within the continental US.\nResponsibilities:\nOperate and optimize Amazon ECS deployments for JLV backend microservices.\nConfigure and manage service scaling, task definitions, health checks, and blue/green deployment strategies.\nImplement and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions aligned with VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) architecture standards.\nSupport multi-region high availability and disaster recovery environments within AWS GovCloud.\nDesign, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for containerized microservices.\nAutomate build, test, security scanning, deployment, verification, and rollback processes.\nCreate repeatable deployment procedures and release workflows supporting VA governance requirements.\nAutomate system configuration, database updates, performance tuning, and post-deployment validation.\nBuild and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and notification systems for JLV backend services.\nExecute backup, restore, outage recovery, and incident response procedures.\nDevelop operational runbooks and support production readiness activities.\nEstablish performance baselines and support load testing and release validation.\nImplement security controls supporting FedRAMP High, NIST 800-53, FISMA, and VA compliance frameworks.\nIntegrate security practices into CI/CD pipelines and operational workflows.\nSupport continuous monitoring, audit activities, and remediation efforts.\nImplement IAM solutions following government cloud best practices.\nPartner with backend engineers, product teams, security teams, and operations personnel.\nSupport production issue triage and service reliability improvements.\nGuide releases through VA governance and approval processes.\nMaintain architecture documentation, deployment guides, and operational procedures.\nTake on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.\nRequirements:\nExperience operating containerized microservices on AWS ECS.\nStrong understanding of container orchestration, service scaling, load balancing, and health monitoring.\nProficiency with AWS CLI and production cloud operations.\nExperience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines for enterprise environments.\nKnowledge of Infrastructure as Code practices and automation frameworks.\nWorking knowledge of FedRAMP High, NIST 800-53, FISMA, and government cloud compliance requirements.\nExperience implementing observability solutions, incident response processes, and SRE practices.\nStrong understanding of AWS networking, IAM, security groups, and multi-region disaster recovery architectures.\nAdditional Qualifications:\nExperience working in AWS GovCloud environments.\nFamiliarity with VA Enterprise Cloud architecture and deployment patterns.\nExperience supporting healthcare applications or clinical viewer platforms.\nFamiliarity with deployment governance, operational readiness reviews, and production operations management.\nExperience integrating with VA or DoD healthcare systems and services.\nKnowledge of VIP lifecycle processes and associated release documentation.\nSecurity Clearance Requirements:\nU.S. Citizenship is required.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance or higher.\nBenefits:\nMedical/Dental/Vision.\n401k with Employer Match.\nPTO + Federal Holidays.\nCorporate Laptop.\nTraining Opportunities.\nRemote Opportunity.\nVetsEZ is an equal opportunity employer.
