VF Corporation is looking for an exceptional eCommerce Product Data Specialist to join Vans team based in Stabio, Switzerland, for a 9-month temporary contract.
Let’s talk about the role!
As Product Data Specialist, you will help lead an exciting transformation of how we build and manage our eCommerce catalogue. Combining deep data skills with the power of AI, you will design smarter, more automated ways to onboard and enrich product assortments across our digital marketplace. Partnering closely with several internal stakeholders, you will turn multiple data sources into rich, accurate and search-optimized product experiences that set a new standard for the way we work.
How you'll make a difference
We expect that you will deliver unbeatable results whilst fulfilling the following aspects of your role (primary accountabilities):
Reimagine and automate the onboarding of seasonal assortments, building scalable, data-driven workflows that reduce manual effort and accelerate time-to-site across marketplaces.
Build, merge and maintain product datasets from multiple sources (relational databases, InRiver PIM, Excel and master data feeds) to create a single, reliable source of truth for catalogue creation.
Leverage AI to automate content production at scale, including generating SEO-optimized product descriptions and enriching product detail pages (PDPs) across digital platforms.
Ideate and develop reporting tools and dashboards to monitor data accuracy, catalogue completeness and product publication velocity, turning operational metrics into actionable insight.
Own product attributes management and enrichment, ensuring every product carries complete, consistent and high-quality data that powers filtering, search and a rich customer experience.
Define and build product categories, structuring assortments in a scalable, logical way that supports both current marketplaces and future B2B and multi-marketplace expansion.
Manage menu navigation and product taxonomy, designing and maintaining the classification structures that make products easy to discover and browse across all digital touchpoints.
Extend and standardize onboarding processes across other digital platforms, embedding automation and AI at every step.
Develop a strong understanding of Vans products, including key features, franchises and consumer relevance, to improve product storytelling, discoverability and the overall shopping experience
Skills for Success
To succeed as eCommerce Product Data Specialist, you are passionate about data and technology and excited to reinvent how a product catalogue is built and managed. You combine strong analytical and database skills with a hands-on, automation-first mindset, and you enjoy collaborating across teams to turn complex information into simple, scalable solutions.
A University bachelor's or master’s degree in Data, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, Economics, or equivalent experience.
Strong data and database skills: confident working with large datasets, relational databases and PIM systems (e.g., InRiver), and merging multiple data sources into clean, structured datasets.
Hands-on experience using AI/GenAI tools to automate tasks such as SEO-optimized product copywriting, data enrichment and quality checks.
2-4 years’ experience in a data-focused, eCommerce or digital role; exposure to marketplaces, WHS or B2B is a plus.
Language skills: Fluent in English. Any other language would be a plus.
Advanced Excel and MS Office proficiency; familiarity with data tools such as SQL, Power Query or Python is a strong plus.
An automation-first mindset with a passion for simplifying and scaling processes, plus strong communication skills to collaborate across internal and external stakeholders.
Analytical, structured and highly detail-oriented, with strong process-building skills.
Curious, humble and eager to learn, with the drive to help transform how we manage our catalogue.
A genuine curiosity in understanding sport and lifestyle product features, seasonal stories, consumer needs and merchandising priorities.
A commercial and customer-focused mindset, with an understanding of how product data, taxonomy, onsite presentation and discoverability support engagement and conversion.
