Financial infrastructure for complex global operations. VFX help businesses and financial institutions.

About VFX

VFX Financial is one of the UK’s fastest-growing FinTechs, helping complex organisations move, manage, and protect money across borders. Built for specialist sectors, multi-jurisdiction structures, and high-compliance environments, we support businesses whose needs go beyond standard banking. We’re selective about who we work with because exceptional service requires focus and commitment.

With six international offices, five regulatory licences, and an 83% CAGR over the past three years, we’re scaling rapidly and earning industry recognition along the way - including the Financial Times FT1000: Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies 2026, CNBC UK’s Top Fintech Companies 2025, Wealth & Finance FinTech Awards 2026, and the Business Growth Award from Business Awards UK.

Behind it all is a team of ambitious VFXers united by collective ownership, a focus on growth, and a shared passion for solving complex problems.

About the Role

We are looking for an analytical, commercially minded finance professional to establish and own the Group’s forward-looking planning, modelling, business intelligence and financial analysis capability.

The role will take significant FP&A activity currently performed by the CFO and turn it into a dedicated, scalable capability, while also developing the Group’s business intelligence and management information capability. It will provide management with clearer visibility of performance, drivers, forecasts, KPIs and scenarios, while freeing the CFO to focus on strategic finance, capital, risk and broader Group priorities.

The successful candidate will combine strong financial modelling and analytical skills with the ability to turn data into practical business insight. The role will work closely with the Financial Controller, Treasury & Regulatory Finance and senior business stakeholders, with some deliberate overlap around cash generation and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

Forecasting & Planning

  • Own the Group forecasting process, including rolling forecasts, reforecasts and annual budgeting in partnership with the CFO and business leaders.

  • Maintain clear assumptions, drivers and ownership across the forecasting model.

  • Challenge forecast assumptions and provide evidence-based views on risks and opportunities.

  • Develop scenario and sensitivity analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.

Financial Model Ownership

  • Own the Group financial model and be responsible for its accuracy, structure, maintenance and development.

  • Update and enhance the model as the business, product set, jurisdictions and commercial model evolve.

  • Ensure the model is sufficiently robust, transparent and well documented for use by senior management.

  • Build new analytical tools and supporting models where required for strategic projects, investments or new initiatives.

Financial Analysis & Management Information

  • Provide high-quality analysis of revenue, gross profit and other performance drivers, with clear commentary on movements and trends.

  • Own recurring management information above gross profit, including analysis of pricing, margins, revenue mix and key commercial costs.

  • Produce MD / senior management reporting, communications and tailored analysis for decision-making.

  • Analyse introducing-broker economics, bank charges, commercial costs and other material financial drivers.

  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities that require management attention and translate them into actionable recommendations.

Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Own and develop the Group’s management information and business intelligence capability, ensuring key performance data is accessible, reliable and decision-useful.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting packs for senior management, including KPIs across revenue, client activity, margins, costs, cash generation and other key business drivers.

  • Work with Finance, Technology and other data owners to improve the quality, consistency and accessibility of underlying data sources.

  • Automate recurring reporting and analysis wherever practical, reducing reliance on manual spreadsheets and improving reporting timeliness.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance the use of Power BI, AI and other analytical tools across the Finance function and wider business.

  • Establish consistent definitions, data sources and reporting methodologies so that management information is aligned across the Group.

Cash Generation & Business Performance

  • Work with the Treasury & Regulatory Finance Manager to link profitability, working capital and cash generation.

  • Help explain the bridge from revenue and gross profit through to free business cash and identify drivers of variance.

  • Ensure forecast cash outcomes are consistent with the underlying operating model and business assumptions.

  • Provide analysis supporting decisions on growth, investment, pricing, cost base and resource allocation.

Business Partnering & Strategic Projects

  • Act as a finance partner to senior stakeholders, helping them understand performance and make better decisions.

  • Support the CFO on strategic projects, acquisitions, new products, international expansion and other major initiatives.

  • Develop concise and decision-useful materials for senior management and Board discussions.

  • Continuously improve the quality, timeliness and accessibility of financial insight across the Group.

Candidate Profile

Experience & Background

  • Qualified accountant, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent FP&A, commercial finance, or investment analysis experience.

  • Strong experience in FP&A, commercial finance, strategy finance, investment analysis, or a comparable analytical finance role.

  • Experience within financial services, fintech, payments, FX, or a high-growth multi-entity environment would be highly desirable.

  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, scenario analysis, or strategic financial planning.

  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and translating financial analysis into clear business insight.

  • Experience working with finance, operational, and commercial data from multiple sources.

Technical Skills

  • Strong financial modelling skills and advanced Excel capability.

  • Able to analyse detailed financial data and identify the key commercial message.

  • Comfortable using Power BI or equivalent business intelligence and dashboard tools.

  • Experience working with Xero or other finance systems would be advantageous.

  • Strong systems and data mindset, with an interest in automation, AI-enabled analysis, and improving reporting processes.

  • Able to build clear, reliable reporting outputs that support decision-making across a growing business.

Core Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Moves confidently from detailed data to the key business message, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Commercial Curiosity: Questions assumptions constructively and seeks to understand what is driving performance.

  • Communication: Presents financial information clearly to senior stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

  • Commercial Judgement: Understands how financial analysis links to business performance, growth, and strategic decision-making.

  • Organisation: Manages recurring reporting cycles alongside ad hoc strategic work without losing accuracy or momentum.

  • Continuous Improvement: Looks for ways to improve reporting, forecasting, modelling, and analysis through better systems, automation, and data use.

  • Ownership: Takes responsibility for workstreams, follows through on actions, and delivers high-quality outputs with strong attention to detail.
