The program will build essential professional skills by offering opportunities for hands-on learning in a supportive yet challenging environment. The intern program is designed to round out participants’ academic learning with real world experience and help them explore related areas of practice to find the best fit for their career path.\nCo-op terms generally run from January - June 2027.\nLand Development engineers require a variety of skills to develop ideas and creative solutions that help make challenging development projects a reality. We are there at every stage of a project; from preliminary research, site survey, conceptual/final design, and permitting, all the way through construction. We work closely with VHBers across disciplines, and consultants to ensure a project fulfills the needs of our client.\nResponsibilities\nCollaborate with numerous VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner \nAssist in development of planning and engineering solutions \nAssist in data mining and visualization \nPerform analysis of data or calculations \nPerform field data collection and other on-site project support activities \nPrepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports \nSkills and Abilities\nExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills \nTeam oriented with strong capability to work independently \nSelf-motivated with attention to detail \nA strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve \nKnowledge of drawing and mapping tools such as AutoCAD and GIS \nKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required \nQualifications\nCurrently pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field \nStrong interest in transportation, land development, urban design, real estate, environmental, institutional, or energy sector \nAbility to work on a computer remotely if necessary \nAbility to travel locally and complete fieldwork if necessary \nThe hourly pay range for this position, located in Massachusetts, is $19 to $30. The actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted hourly range reflects base pay only.
