Join VHB and help shape sustainable, vibrant communities.\nResponsibilities\nCollaborate with design and production teams to prepare site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a wide range of land development projects\nLead preparation of land development engineering documents including grading, drainage, utility, and permitting plans\nProvide senior-level technical support and quality oversight during design and documentation phases\nPrepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure high technical quality\nParticipate in meetings with clients, review agencies, and other stakeholders to discuss technical requirements and permit-related issues\nProvide technical guidance during the Construction Administration phase, including review of submittals and field questions\nMentor and support the development of junior engineering staff, providing guidance on design approaches and technical standards\nLead technical execution on small, medium, and large-scale engineering projects\nAssist with technical content for proposals and collaborate with teams to pursue project opportunities\nSkills and Attributes\nHighly proficient in:o AutoCAD Civil 3Do Microsoft Projecto MS Office Suite\nStrong working knowledge of multidisciplinary collaboration in land development\nDeep understanding of site layout, grading, drainage, and utility design principles\nFamiliarity with Florida land development codes, construction standards, and permitting processes\nWorking knowledge of construction materials, detailing, and design standards\nExperience with sustainable design practices including LEED and Envision principles\nInnovative approach to civil engineering challenges and design solutions\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nAttention to technical detail with ability to manage multiple priorities effectively\nExcellent communication skills-both verbal and written\nComfortable working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment\nDemonstrates technical leadership with potential for continued growth\nInterest in expanding technical knowledge and contributing to proposal development\nQualifications\nBS in Civil Engineering or related field\n11+ years of progressive site/civil engineering experience on complex land development projects\nPE license required; Florida licensure preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months\nAdvanced technical skills in site layout, grading, stormwater management, and utility design\nStrong experience in preparing site plans, construction documents, technical reports, and specifications\nThe full-time annual base salary range for this position, located in Tampa, FL, is $135,000 to $160,000. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.\nAnnual base salary is one component of VHB’s Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
