This is an exciting opportunity to develop, analyze and evaluate traffic improvements, while being involved in transportation planning, safety, and engineering solutions for multimodal transportation projects. There is an option for someone to work from another VHB office to support CT projects, if meeting all qualifications.\nEngineering News-Record (ENR) magazine, a leading source of news and information for the engineering and construction industry, named VHB the 2024 Design Firm of the Year in New England.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop, analyze and evaluate traffic improvements including traffic signals and roundabouts\nDevelop traffic and transportation planning, safety, and engineering solutions for multimodal transportation projects\nConduct safety engineering analysis, including design and operational focused analysis\nDesign traffic control devices\nDesign work zone traffic control\nDevelop intersection design\nUse guidance within the MUTCD to prepare and oversee traffic signal warrant analyses\nAttend and lead meetings with transportation agencies and private developers\nPrepare and participate in presentations to the client team \nPrepare and review technical memoranda and reports\nMentor junior team members\nSkills & Abilities:\nA strong background in traffic engineering and task management\nExcellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills\nStrong writing skills for proposals, technical reports and memoranda\nThe ability to balance multiple concurrent assignments\nFinal Design Plan Development\nQualifications:\n5-8 years of professional transportation/traffic design engineering experience required, depending on level of education\nProficiency in Synchro required\nProficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD required\nVissim modeling capabilities a plus\nBachelor’s degree in civil engineering required\nMaster’s degree a plus (master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience)\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license required\nPTOE (Professional Traffic Operations Engineer) certification a plus\nThe full-time annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000 if located in Massachusetts, and $95,000 to $135,000 if located in Connecticut or New Hampshire. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.\nAnnual base salary is one component of VHB’s Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
