We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is motivated to tackle challenges, and has a strong grasp of site design and regulatory requirements.\nIf you’re ready to make an impact and advance your career with a company known for collaboration, creativity, and community impact, we want to hear from you!\nResponsibilities\nWork independently with a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans, reports and specifications for a multitude of land development projects\nAssist with civil engineering for retail, residential, institutional, renewable energy and industrial site design including grading and drainage design, utility design, and site layout\nPreparation and/or reviewing of design criteria, drawings and specifications\nPreparation of schematic design, design development, and construction contract documentation\nAssist with the preparation of permitting, design and construction documents\nAttend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues\nTechnical and design report writing\nSkills and Abilities\nExcellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills\nTeam oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner and collaborate effectively and positively with other emerging professionals and managers\nAbility to work in a fast-paced office, virtual, and field environment, in rural or urban environments\nProven strong work-ethic and self-motivated to produce high quality outcomes\nHighly organized, and detail oriented, with ability to think creatively and formulate solutions in team environment\nKnowledge of local and state regulations governing site design\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study required, Master’s degree a plus (may substitute for 1 year of experience)\n5-8+ years of professional site/civil design engineering experience required\nProficiency with AutoCAD, TR-55 and Rational Method for drainage design (i.e., HydroCAD, and StormCAD) required\nPE license or ability to obtain within 6 months\nNon-PE licensed candidates will be considered \nSolid understanding of the typical land entitlement process in CT including permitting at the local and state level preferred\nThe full-time annual base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $135,000 if located in Wethersfield, CT. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.\nAnnual base salary is one component of VHB’s Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
