The ideal candidate should possess a “can-do” attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun environment.\nLearn more about our Bridge and Structures Engineering practice and on-going work in Alternative Delivery at VHB:\nBridges & Structures | VHB\nAlternative Delivery | VHB\nResponsibilities\nPerform structural modeling, design, and oversight for bridge and other transportation infrastructure projects\nPrepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates and calculation packages\nProvide technical support/mentorship to structural engineering staff\nPerform quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc.\nAssist in preparation of qualification packages, proposals and/or contracts involving technical approach, costs, and scheduling\nProvide project management support\nReview fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviews\nSkills & Abilities\nSelf-motivated with excellent attention to detail and quality\nMust possess strong technical skills in bridge/structural design and critical thinking\nStrong organizational and time management skills\nEffective and comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment\nDemonstrated excellence in verbal presentations and technical writing is essential\nExperience with and motivation to lead and mentor junior staff\nModel-based design experience\nProject management skills \nMinimum Qualifications\n3-5 years of structural bridge design experience (LRFD)\nB.S. in Civil Engineering required; emphasis in Structures preferred\nEIT certification required; PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred\nProject experience with FDOT preferred\nExperience completing engineering studies, design reports, compiling contract documents and developing contract plans, in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures including AASHTO, FDOT, local municipalities/counties, and other state DOTs\nStrong familiarity with any of the following structural engineering software(i.e. Mathcad, AASHTOWare, FB-MultiPier, Midas Civil, ATLAS, STAAD Pro, LARSA 4D, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, FDOT Structures Design Programs, etc.)\nModel-based design experience is a strong plus:\nBentley OpenBridge and OpenRoads\nAutoCADD Civil 3D and Revit/Infraworks/Inventor\nThe full-time annual base salary range for this position, located in Florida, is $80,000 to $100,000. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.\nAnnual base salary is one component of VHB’s Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
