As a Structural Intern, you’ll work alongside team members to support projects of varying sizes and complexity.\nThis opportunity will allow you to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects, strengthen your technical and professional skills, and learn how multidisciplinary teams develop solutions that add value through the built environment in their communities.\nResponsibilities\nEffectively interact with numerous VHB staff to advance projects in a timely manner\nAssist with engineering calculations, analysis, and report preparation\nAssist with completion of conceptual, preliminary, and final construction plans\nAssist with bridge scoping studies and alternatives analysis\nPerform quantity take-offs and calculations for construction estimates\nPerform field investigations and data collection for new and ongoing projects\nSkills and Attributes\nExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills\nAbility to independently manage multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with teammates\nWillingness to support different engineering disciplines\nSelf-motivated with attention to detail\nGood time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines\nQualifications\nCandidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related studies\nInterest in transportation engineering, structural design, or a related field\nMicroStation experience preferred\nSponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.\nStudent Housing and Relocation assistance is not available for this position.\nThis is a hybrid position. The selected candidate must be able to work on-site in VHB's Tampa, FL office.\nThe hourly pay range for this position, located in Florida, is $19 to $30. The actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted hourly range reflects base pay only.
