Significant involvement with antenna components, waveguide arrays, waveguide structures, reflector antennas and feeds. Performs design, analysis, modeling, and testing of various types of antenna systems and components. Impels designs forward from the conceptual drawing board into the implementation of building and testing the finished product. Works with cross functional teams in a dynamic environment to achieve the product design goals as well as meeting cost and schedule targets.\nThe day-to-day\nOn a typical day, you'll spend time running electromagnetic simulations, reviewing antenna performance data, troubleshooting hardware and test results, collaborating with mechanical, RF, and systems engineers, and participating in technical design reviews. You'll work alongside experienced antenna engineers to mature designs, support laboratory measurements, document results, and help drive products through development, integration, and test.\nWhat you'll need\n5+ Years of Antenna design experience with satellite communications antenna systems (reflectors and arrays desired).\nBS Electrical Engineering (MS Electrical Engineering preferred)\nProficient with analytical & programming tools (e.g., HFSS, TICRA, Mathcad, Matlab, etc.).\nInterpersonal communication skills (both oral and written) and effective in a team environment working across divisional boundaries.\nAbility to work independently and with coordinated group design activities.\nExperience with Antenna Design for manufacturing\nExperience generating specifications for RF components and antenna feed networks\nUS Citizenship required\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required\nWhat will help you on the job\nExperience developing ground based antenna systems for satellite access nodes (LEO, MEO, and GEO).\nExperience developing “space based on board” satellite antenna systems.\nHands-on design experience through laboratory testing and system measurement\nExperience supporting business development with design schedules, and cost estimates\nExperience designing X, Ku, Ka and Q/V-band optics, reflectors, phased arrays, and Feeds\nSalary range\n$120,500.00 - $190,000.00 / annually.\nFor specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $149,500.00- $224,500.00/ annually\nAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
