We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.\nWhat you'll do\nServe as the product owner for key data platforms and applications, including SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Azure Data Factory, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) / BigQuery.\nOwn the product roadmap, ensuring solutions align with business needs, customer requirements, and the Data & Analytics strategy.\nAct as the main interface between business stakeholders, engineering teams, and platform owners to define features, enhancements, priorities, and release plans.\nEnsure data products and pipelines are reliable, high-quality, and optimized for performance, usability, and scale.\nLead requirement definition, backlog prioritization, user story creation, and acceptance criteria for data-related features and operational enhancements.\nDrive continuous improvement of data products and operational workflows across multiple tools and teams.\nThis is a site-based role, employees work 3+ days (60%+) per week from a Viasat office or work location within a standard five-day workweek.\nThe day-to-day\nGather and translate business needs into clear product requirements for SAC dashboards, Azure Data Factory pipelines, and BigQuery-based analytics solutions.\nPartner with engineering teams to validate designs, troubleshoot issues, manage releases, and ensure successful delivery.\nSupport (predominantly) U.S. business customers, providing guidance, triage, and functional expertise across multiple applications.\nMonitor product performance, adoption, and user feedback to inform backlog updates and future enhancements.\nManage operational tasks such as access requests, permission reviews, change control, platform health checks, and release readiness.\nCoordinate with cross-functional partners (Data Engineering, BI Developers, Security, Program Management, IT Operations).\nMaintain documentation, SOPs, and product artifacts to ensure clarity and consistency across the organization.\nWhat you'll need\nExperience as a product owner, data product manager, or technical lead in analytics or data platforms.\nHands-on familiarity with: SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) - dashboards, models, permissions, scheduling\nAzure Data Factory - pipelines, orchestration, troubleshooting\n GCP / BigQuery - datasets, performance basics, SQL fundamentals\n\nStrong understanding of data concepts (ETL/ELT, data quality, governance, lifecycle management).\nAbility to work directly with customers to understand needs, solve issues, and guide platform best practices.\nExcellent communication, prioritization, and stakeholder-management skills.\nComfort working across multiple applications in a fast-paced, customer-support-focused environment\nU.S. Citizenship required\n#LI-VSAT\nWhat will help you on the job\nExperience supporting or owning analytics products in a corporate or enterprise environment.\nWorking knowledge of cloud data architectures (Azure, GCP) and pipeline design patterns.\nFamiliarity with Agile delivery, backlog management, and user story writing.\nBasic SQL skills for quick checks, data validation, and troubleshooting.\nUnderstanding of data governance concepts, security models, and role-based access.\nA proactive, customer-centric attitude with the ability to anticipate needs and identify improvements.\nAbility to work effectively across time zones and collaborate with distributed teams.\nSalary range\n$110,500.00 - $174,500.00 / annually.\nFor specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $137,000.00- $206,000.00/ annually\nAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
