Our ideal candidate will have a background in Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity frameworks, as well as IT infrastructure experience including route and switch, firewall, server provisioning, virtualization, and container architecture. In this role you'll support government projects helping to secure products and systems around the globe.\nThe day-to-day\nThis is a multidisciplinary role spanning Cybersecurity and IA, Windows and Linux administration, network administration, security requirements analysis, and system integration testing. You will work with the product development team to ensure secure architecture and compliance with all security requirements. This role also includes responsibilities in the system test domain where you will validate system security and functionality.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and/or implement secure architectures\nAct as a central cybersecurity resource across multiple projects and programs, and act as a cybersecurity lead for larger efforts\nCreate documentation to track vulnerabilities and remediations, populate security packages, and present program security status\nProvide technical and policy guidance that will enable successful security accreditation efforts\nManage system security requirements\nManage and configure firewalls, routers, and switches\nValidate and test security functionality\nWhat you'll need\n10+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Engineering, Information Assurance, secure systems/network administration, or similar discipline\n\nDemonstrated experience creating and maintaining RMF packages, including designing and documenting security plans, policies, and procedures, and maintaining them in eMASS\n\nDeep understanding of security compliance standards such as NIST 800-53, RMF, CMMC, CIS, or similar\n\nStrong experience with cybersecurity defense and detection methodologies\n\nDemonstrated knowledge of the DoD Zero Trust Framework\n\nGood understanding of IT systems, centralized directory services, and IP networking\n\nUS citizenship and active TOP SECRET security clearance is required. Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI\n\nAbility to travel up to 20%\n\nWhat will help you on the job\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Cybersecurity, or related engineering discipline\n\nCCNA, JNCIA, or similar certification\n\nCISSP or similar certification\n\nFamiliarity with securing cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP\n\nExperience using vulnerability scanning platforms such as Nessus\n\nStrong communication skills, both written and verbal\n\nStrong interpersonal skills\n\nThe ability to manage competing priorities and timelines\n\nStrong self-motivation and independent work ethic\n\nThe ability to work across a geographically distributed team\n\nSalary range\n$165,000.00 - $260,500.00 / annually.\nFor specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $205,000.00- $307,000.00/ annually\nAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
