This role\nreports to the Tempe Facilities Manager. You will contribute to the Facilities group dedicated to maintaining all systems, equipment, and\nassets in effective working condition. This supports the highest level of customer happiness. You will arrange daily support for the\nMaintenance team, making sure all scheduled and unexpected maintenance and repairs are communicated and carried out without delay.\nYour capacity to multitask successfully will allow you to coordinate subcontractor activities and services alongside internal maintenance\nduties. Clear communication is important as you assist outside contractors, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment issues, and\nsupport plumbing assignments throughout the campus. This practical role guarantees a varied workday.\nThe day-to-day\nCarry out preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other building systems and equipment (including fan coil units, package chillers, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, electrical equipment, UPS, etc.) following industry standards and manufacturer instructions.\nEfficiently operate a Building Automation System (BAS) i.e., Trane SC, Delta & A.L.C. - Automated Logic Controls.\nManage work orders through a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS software).\nRead and understand technical drawings (i.e., blueprints, user manuals, electronic/mechanical schematics) to repair and maintain equipment.\nOperate material handling machinery and power tools as needed to complete tasks.\nCoordinate, supervise and/or escort subcontractors on an as-needed basis.\nInstallation and/or relocation of modular furniture and lab benches.\nProvide hands-on support to HVAC mechanics and/or Electricians.\nCollaborate within a group setting and be prepared to take on extra or new duties promptly.\nWhat you'll need\n8+ years of experience in facilities operations and maintenance, including performing general repair work and working on relatedtrades like HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing.\nStrong troubleshooting skills are required.\nPrevious HVAC / Electrical facilities work.\nRunning conduit and adding addition circuits single and three phase.\nClean room Lab experience\nExperience using a computer-based work order management system.\nExperience handling general facilities equipment and working with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing tools.\nAbility to perform “On-Call” responsibilities for after hours and weekend coverage.\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\nProven talent for offering outstanding assistance to customers.\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is a must.\nAbility to travel up to 10%.\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience.\nDriver’s License.\nUS Citizenship is required\nWhat will help you on the job\nElectrical certifications/ license are a plus.\nExceptional ability to provide outstanding customer service under pressure.\nKnowledge of Trane SC building automation systems is preferred\nSalary range\n$73,000.00 - $116,000.00 / annually.\nFor specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $91,000.00- $137,000.00/ annually\nAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
