You will be a member of the data engineering team working on tasks ranging from design, development, operations of data warehouse, data platform and data pipelines. We enjoy working closely with each other utilizing an Agile development methodology. Priorities can change quickly, but our team members are able to stay ahead to delight every one of our customers whether they are internal or external to Viasat.\n\nThe day-to-day\n\nDevelop ETL processes delivering high-quality code, following coding best practices.\nCreate and implement complex analytical data models that support reporting and analytics business requirements.\nSupport and troubleshoot issues/bugs in data pipeline and SQLs for analytics.\nAnalyse the use of data, design and create DataMarts based on requirements.\nDesign and build reporting solutions.\nWork with Functional/Business resources on a day-to-day basis to understand business requirements and processes\nAbility to work on distributed remote agile teams with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently.\nExcellent verbal and written communication abilities. You will be required to communicate both verbally and in written form with remote international teams very frequently.\nEmbracing the DevOps philosophy of product development, in addition to your design development activities you are also required to provide operational support of the post-production deployment\n\nWhat You'll Need\n\n8+ years of experience in data engineering with strong knowledge in Python/DBT.\nExperience in Data Warehousing technologies such as Snowflake/BigQuery along with experience on any SQL technologies\nExperience in processing batch and stream data at scale.\nExperience with big data technologies like Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Apache Flink etc.\nExperience working in cloud environment AWS/GCP.\nKnowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies including dimensional modelling.\nStrong proficiency in SQL query writing and optimization.\nFamiliarity with Bigdata and data processing ETL/ETL technologies\nProblem-solving experience and possess a DevOps approach\nStrong oral and written communication skills.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering Disciplines.\n\nWhat Will Help You On The Job\n\nFamiliarity with cloud computing concepts\nPrior working experience in a DevOps team is a plus.\nCI/CD and Devops exposure is a strong plus\n\n EEO Statement\n\nViasat is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment.
