We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.\nWhat you'll do\nJoin a fast-paced team within Viasat’s Government Connectivity, Data and Enterprise group as a Senior Project Engineer!\nIn this role, you will:\nLead the technical execution of an advanced space network and enterprise program from early development through deployment.\nTranslate mission needs and high-level requirements into actionable engineering plans, ensuring alignment across networks, enterprise systems, operations, software, and integration teams.\nCoordinate system-level design activities, guiding program execution development, interface definition, and integration activities across multiple domains for advanced enterprise solutions networking.\nDrive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring consistent technical baselines, verification approaches, and integration readiness across engineering disciplines.\nSupport proposals, planning, milestone preparation, and technical communication with internal stakeholders and government customers.\nThe day-to-day\nYou’ll be at the center of engineering integration and program execution. Your responsibilities will include:\nManaging technical scope, schedule, and risks to ensure delivery of mission-aligned system capabilities.\nGuiding networking, software, operations, and integration and test teams through implementation and integration phases.\nLeading system bring-up, troubleshooting issues during network/software integration, and ensuring traceability back to requirements.\nCoordinating with requirements, analysis, and modeling teams to maintain alignment throughout the lifecycle.\nPreparing and delivering technical briefs, design reviews, and engineering documentation.\nWhat you'll need\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field.\n10+ years of experience in system-level engineering, integration, or technical project leadership for complex communications, enterprise, or networking systems.\nStrong understanding of systems engineering fundamentals: requirements flow-down, trade studies, verification/validation, and system architecture.\nAbility to collaborate across diverse engineering domains and drive alignment in dynamic environments.\nStrong communication and organizational skills, including experience preparing briefings or leading technical discussions.\nUS Citizenship required\nMust be able to obtain a United States Secret Clearance\n\nAble to travel up to 25%.\nWhat will help you on the job\nActive security clearance\nExperience integrating advanced networks, software systems, interfaces, and security architectures.\nBackground with modeling/simulation tools and system-level workflows.\nExperience working with geographically distributed teams and coordinating multi-discipline engineering activities.\nExposure to secure communication networks, security, data platforms, and, satellite/space system architectures.\n#LI-VSAT\nSalary range\n$180,500.00 - $285,000.00 / annually.\nFor specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $224,500.00- $336,500.00/ annually\nAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
