We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team.\nWhat you'll do\nThe Service Assurance Systems (SAS) Group, part of Global Operations, develop and maintain many software systems and applications which support the operation of Viasat services.\nThese systems and applications are at the heart of Viasat Operational Centres around the world. They are used by 24/7 network operations controllers, system design engineers, managers across Viasat, Value Added Resellers (VARs) and Distribution Partners (DPs) to monitor, measure and interpret network and service performance.\nThe team’s work centres around three core activities:\nThe capture and collection of real-time data from systems distributed across the Viasat network, decoding it as needed to extract meaningful insights.\nAnalyse of this data to build a clear understanding of system behaviour, using modelling and other analytical techniques to assess performance.\nSharing these insights across Viasat through real-time monitoring and alerting, operational dashboards, and tools that support both live and historical analysis.\nThis position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\nThe day-to-day\nYou will be working as part of a small team of developers supporting the evolution of Viasat’s network and service monitoring capabilities, ensuring it remains world class in support of existing and future services.\nYou will have ownership of both internal and external stakeholder relationships, working with product managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and third-party vendors.\nTo undertake software development and support of applications within the SAS group as needed.\nWorking with system and application users to understand new requirements, develop and test new features.\nTo organise and present design and code reviews for work undertaken.\nTo provide written and verbal progress reports within the SAS group.\nHave a conscientious approach to testing and documentation.\nWorking alongside engineers from the Development & Engineering divisions to understand the design and architecture of new services to be launched and ensuring there are appropriate interfaces to allow collection of appropriate monitoring and service information.\nInteract with Operations, Product Management and Customer Support teams to answer customer questions and help resolve customer network issues, identify and resolve software bugs.\nTo take responsibility for the enhancement and maintenance of software supporting the Billing/Assurance streams.\nOngoing work with Viasat’s Billing and IT Operational teams aiming to agree clear demarcation and responsibility for the delivery of operational solutions and tools.\nSupport Billing/Assurance Operational teams with fault finding/diagnosis.\nLiaise with engineering divisions to ensure systems correctly reflects any proposed changes to existing services.\nTo support and fix the operational systems developed and supported by the SAS group.
