You will be engaging with and guiding software teams working on embedded software, helping them achieve development, design, quality and agility goals. You will provide leadership to the software team design & development of software for the satellite terminal products.\nThe day-to-day\nSoftware engineering as part of an agile development team\nDrive software architecture and evolution for all the software teams.\nLead design, development and testing of software products\nParticipate in code reviews of software with a view to deliver quality products in the short and long term\nHelp drive near and long-term priorities\nMentor engineers on industry best-practices, through design/code reviews, training sessions and one-on-one mentoring\nSome part of the time, hands-on software development\nTravel up to 10%\nWhat you'll need\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering\n10+ years’ experience in hands-on experience using C/C++/Rust in embedded environments, with a track record of success\nExtensive hands-on experience with Object Oriented methodology and development\nExperience with developing and delivering software using CICD and DevOps practices\nAbility to champion modern software practices and uphold software quality standards in all phases of development\nStrong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate software architecture & design, including existing codebases\nExcellent communication skills\nUS Citizenship or permanent residence required\nWhat will help you on the job\nStrong background in software development in embedded environments\nStrong background in security\nLearning agility\nExperience with using AI tooling in software development\nSalary range\n$165,000.00 - $260,500.00 / annually.\nFor specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $205,000.00- $307,000.00/ annually\nAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
