You will work with a cross functional team in the development of our latest generation government modem! You will also write test documentation include test plans, procedures and test cases and then support lab build up to implement the testing. This role will support system test campaigns on one or more product families for satellite products with functional, performance, robustness and over the air terminal testing!\nThe day-to-day\nPrepare Test Plans, Procedures, and customer needs to guide the effort to develop and build custom test hardware and automation using company and industry standards.\nShepherd test system deployment from hardware/software integration, to use in design verification and out to operations.\nRun manual and automated tests against latest software releases, debug test setups and software configurations to ensure quality software releases.\nCollaborate with system engineering, software development, project engineers and other test teammembers on test planning and execution.\nWhat you'll need\n5+ years’ experience in crafting test requirements, test plans, test cases and methodologies, and test documentation for manufacturing that guides system development.\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related discipline\nSolid understanding of both the technical and process aspects of product design and able to evaluate products using documents describing their design and function.\nExperience with networking, OSI model, and L2/L3 technologies like MAC and TCP/IP, UDP, etc.\nExperience with debugging and fixing Linux-based products.\nUS citizenship required.\nUp to 10% travel.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.\nThis role can work out of the Carlsbad, CA, Germantown, MD or Reston, VA office\nMust be able to come into the office 3 days a week; hybrid \nWhat will help you on the job\nExperience with a programming or scripting language (Python, C/C++, Java or other)\nFamiliar with using requirements traceability tools (DOORS, JAMA, etc.)\nExperience with wireless communications or satellite communications systems (SATCOM) or Radio Frequency systems\nExperience with a variety of lab equipment like oscilloscopes, power supplies, and boundary scan to evaluate and help fix systems\n#LI-VSAT\nSalary range\n$120,500.00 - $190,000.00 / annually.\nFor specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $149,500.00- $224,500.00/ annually\nAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
