In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for the design of cables and harnesses, including all related content for various products. Your strong communication and organization skills combined with your knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and EMI design will serve you well as you generate wire lists, assembly drawings, specify connector and wire types, and work with systems, electrical, test and operations engineering teams to ensure a quality and manufacturable product.\nThe day-to-day\nGenerate sophisticated cable and harness design packages for aviation and space applications\nParticipate in group discussions\nAssist programs in identifying critical components and design features and challenges\nWhat you'll need\nAssociate of Science Degree in technology or related field and/or 2+ years of related experience in aviation and/or space applications\nStrong practical experience with SolidWorks, or other CAD based wire harness design tools.\nStrong oral and written skills\nSolid understanding and use of industry standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620)\nSolid understanding of electrical schematics\nExperience in the creation of fabrication drawings and related BOM’s as well as experience with crafting processes and standardization documentation.\nStrong understanding and working knowledge of with Agile or other PLM platforms.\nUS citizenship required\nUp to 15-20% travel \nWhat will help you on the job\nBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering discipline\nSolid understanding of cable and harness fabrication\n3D routing experience\nExperience with routing in Creo or NX\nExperience with Siemens Capital\nGenerate cable and harness internal specifications\nAbility to mentor and guide junior designers\nSalary range\n$95,000.00 - $149,500.00 / annually.\nFor specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $117,500.00- $176,500.00/ annually\nAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
