The position is remote. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.\n\nWe are seeking a Database Administrator with a minimum of 4 years of experience to support administration, maintenance, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle database environments for a federal civilian customer. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working in a production enterprise environment, and interested in growing cloud database experience as the program continues its AWS migration.\n\nThe Database Administrator will be responsible for performing day-to-day administration of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases, supporting data migration tasks associated with the customer's ongoing cloud modernization and data center consolidation efforts, and responding to database-related incidents in ServiceNow.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nPerform day-to-day administration of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, and patching.\n\nMonitor database health, performance, and job scheduling, escalating issues to senior DBAs as needed.\n\nExecute routine backup and recovery procedures and support periodic disaster recovery testing.\n\nSupport database user access requests, role management, and security auditing in accordance with agency policy.\n\nAssist with data migration tasks associated with the customer's ongoing cloud modernization and data center consolidation efforts.\n\nWrite and optimize basic to intermediate SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts in support of operational needs.\n\nMaintain accurate documentation of database configurations, schedules, and standard operating procedures.\n\nRespond to database-related incident tickets in ServiceNow and participate in root cause analysis.\n\nParticipate in an on-call rotation for after-hours database support as needed.\n\nRequired Education and Experience:\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience\n\nMinimum of 4 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases\n\nWorking knowledge of database backup, recovery, and basic performance tuning concepts\n\nProficiency in writing SQL queries and troubleshooting routine database issues\n\nRequired Skills and Competencies:\n\nFamiliarity with database security and access control practices\n\nUnderstanding of ITSM ticketing and change management processes\n\nAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment\n\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders\n\nAbility to obtain public trust clearance\n\nPreferred Skills and Competencies:\n\nExperience working in a federal government IT environment\n\nKnowledge of compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, or NIST\n\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Database certification, or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner\n\nExposure to AWS RDS or cloud-hosted database environments\n\nFamiliarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms\n\nCompensation Range:\n$80,000 - $120,000.
