This is a place to make a difference in the world.\nThe Technical Lead Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership, engineering support,\nand maintenance reliability oversight within a sterile injectable fill finish manufacturing facility. The\nrole has primary responsibility for ensuring plant inspection readiness across engineering systems,\nwith particular emphasis on HVAC, clean utilities, facility infrastructure, preventive maintenance\nprograms, and associated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\nThe successful candidate will act as the engineering lead for the new product program proposed for\nthe cartridge filling line while providing technical support for existing syringe and vial filling\noperations. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining qualification lifecycle documents,\ndriving maintenance excellence initiatives, improving equipment reliability, and supporting process\ndevelopment activities to ensure compliant, safe, and efficient manufacturing operations.\nThe Technical Lead will work closely with Operations, Quality Assurance, Validation, Maintenance,\nFacilities, and external contractors to ensure all systems remain in a sustained state of control and\nregulatory compliance.\nThis role is a critical engineering leadership position responsible for ensuring the reliable, compliant,\nand efficient operation of sterile fill finish manufacturing systems while driving engineering\nexcellence, maintenance reliability, and continuous Filling Line Technical Leadership\nPlant Inspection Readiness & Compliance Leadership\nLead engineering activities to maintain continuous regulatory inspection readiness.\nEnsure HVAC systems, cleanroom infrastructure, utilities, and process equipment comply with\nGMP requirements and site procedures.\nDrive remediation activities arising from audits, inspections, deviations, CAPAs and technical\ninvestigations.\nSupport regulatory inspections and customer audits as the technical subject matter expert for\nfacilities and engineering systems.\nEnsure engineering documentation is maintained in an audit-ready state at all times.\nPeriodically review engineering systems for compliance, risk, and operational effectiveness.\nHVAC & Utilities Systems\nProvide technical leadership and oversight of critical facility systems including:\no HVAC and cleanroom environmental control systems\no Clean Steam systems\no Water for Injection (WFI)\no Purified Water systems\no Compressed gases\no Process chilled water\no Building Management Systems (BMS)\no Environmental monitoring support systems\nEnsure robust preventative maintenance and reliability strategies are implemented for all GMP\nutilities.\nDrive continuous improvement of utility performance through trend analysis and reliability\nprograms.\nSupport qualification, requalification and periodic review activities for critical utility systems.\nMaintenance Excellence & Reliability Engineering\nChampion maintenance reliability best practices across all production and utility assets.\nDevelop and optimize preventative maintenance (PM) programs using risk-based and reliability\ncentered maintenance principles.\nLead root cause investigations and implementation of sustainable corrective actions for\nequipment failures.\nEstablish & report KPI’s\nDrive predictive maintenance initiatives where appropriate.\nPartner with maintenance teams to improve asset lifecycle management and spare parts\nstrategies.\nPromote a culture of reliability, ownership, and continuous improvement.\nCartridge Filling Line Technical Leadership\nServe as Engineering Lead for the cartridge filling line new process development for next\ngeneration product.\nProvide technical direction for specifying , troubleshooting, optimization, and lifecycle\nmanagement of cartridge filling , dispensing and compounding equipment.\nLead equipment performance improvement projects.\nSupport process development, scale-up, and introduction of new products onto the cartridge\nmanufacturing platform.\nCoordinate equipment upgrades and implementation of technical improvements.\nEnsure equipment operates within validated and qualified parameters.\nValidation & Qualification Support\nLead & Support the development and execution of qualification lifecycle documentation\nincluding: partnering with MS&T department and Cartridge program manager\no User Requirement Specifications (URS)\no Functional Specifications (FS)\no Design Qualification (DQ)\no Installation Qualification (IQ)\no Operational Qualification (OQ)\no Performance Qualification (PQ)\no Traceability matrices\no Engineering assessments\no Periodic review documentation\nSupport commissioning and qualification of new equipment, facility upgrades, and utility\nsystems.\nEnsure documentation meets GMP, regulatory, and site requirements.\nSupport validation activities associated with process improvements and change controls.\nSyringe & Vial Filling Line Support\nProvide technical engineering support to existing syringe filling operations.\nSupport reliability and maintenance activities on vial filling lines.\nCollaborate with dedicated maintenance teams to maximize equipment performance and\navailability.\nLead technical investigations involving critical process equipment.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and operational\nexcellence.\nContinuous Improvement & Process Development\nSupport process development initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency and product\nquality.\nIdentify opportunities for equipment optimization and process simplification.\nLead engineering change control activities.\nApply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Reliability Engineering principles where appropriate.\nParticipate in capital projects and technology transfer activities.\nLeadership Responsibilities\nProvide technical mentoring and coaching to maintenance technicians and engineers.\nAct as a key engineering SME across fill finish operations.\nFoster a culture of safety, compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement.\nCoordinate engineering activities across multiple functional groups and external vendors.\nAbout Your Skills & Experience\nFor this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following\nqualifications, skills and experiences:\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Manufacturing,\nPharmaceutical Engineering, or related trades qualification with >10 years Pharma experience)\nAdvanced technical or reliability certifications are desirable.\nExperience\n10+ years' experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or sterile manufacturing\nenvironments.\nExtensive experience supporting sterile fill finish operations.\nStrong experience with:\no HVAC systems in GMP environments\no Clean utilities\no Equipment maintenance programs\no Reliability engineering\no
