You will play a key role in rapid prototyping next-generation (6G) wireless communication systems, bridging the gap between theoretical innovation and real-world implementation.Duties & Responsibilities:\nKey Responsibilities\nWork with VIAVI’s product teams to develop 6G technologies, including massive MIMO, integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), and AI-native radio systems using AI tools for software development.\nRapid prototyping of new concepts on CPU and/or GPUs for collaboration and evaluation with customers.\nDevelop simulation and emulation models (MATLAB, Python, C/C++) to assess physical layer and system-level performance.\nPre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:\nEducation:\nMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.\nTechnical Expertise:\nStrong foundation in wireless communication theory (OFDM, MIMO, beamforming, channel modeling, coding, and PHY/MAC design).\nGood knowledge of channel modeling, particularly with a focus on ray-tracing techniques and AI/ML technologies.\nExperience with MATLAB, Python, or CUDA C++, and containers (Docker, Podman).\nHands-on skills in prototyping on wireless communication systems.\nFamiliarity with 5G NR architecture and emerging 6G concepts such as AI-native RAN, ISAC, or non-terrestrial networks (NTN).\nSoft Skills:\nStrong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving ability.\nEager to take on new challenges with support from others.\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills in a global, cross-functional environment.\nSelf-driven and curious about emerging technologies in wireless systems.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFamiliarity with AI/ML-assisted communication systems or sensing-integrated radio.\nUnderstanding of test & measurement principles or wireless performance evaluation is advantageous.\nPrior collaboration with standards bodies (3GPP RAN, ITU-R) or participation in 6G research consortia is a
