The technician will assemble mechanical parts, wire electronic components, and load firmware into devices, ensuring a high standard of workmanship. Working in accordance with manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, process documents, travelers, drawings), the Assembler I will contribute to the production of sub-units or complete units and perform functional testing of devices and components. This role will involve inspecting work in progress to meet quality and engineering specifications.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssembly Operations:\nAssemble mechanical parts and wire electronic components as per assembly instructions, process documents, travelers, and drawings.\nPerform basic functional testing on assembled devices and components to ensure proper operation.\nLoad firmware into devices and complete final assembly and testing of electronic assemblies and cables.\nInspection and Quality Control:\nConduct inspections on work in progress to verify compliance with quality and engineering specifications.\nComplete necessary production and quality-related documentation to track assembly progress and issues.\nSafety and Organization:\nMaintain a clean and safe workstation at all times to meet safety standards.\nOrganize and clean the production facilities to ensure an efficient working environment.\nCollaboration and Communication:\nWork with other team members to meet key performance metrics, including safety, quality, productivity, and schedule.\nCommunicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure all tasks are completed according to schedule.\nAdditional Responsibilities:\nBe available to work overtime as needed.\nComplete other tasks as necessary to support the production team.\nPre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:\nPreferred Skills & Qualifications:\nEducation:\nA high school diploma or GED certificate is required.\nExperience:\nPrior experience in wiring or assembly is preferred.\nMechanical aptitude with the ability to follow assembly instructions and work with hand tools and power tools.\nTechnical Skills:\nOperate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.\nAbility to read and interpret technical documents, including assembly instructions, schematics, and diagrams.\nSoft Skills:\nStrong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.\nMust be able to work independently and as part of a team.\nAbility to maintain a positive and respectful attitude, working well with others.\nMaintain a high sense of urgency, diligence, and adaptability, with a focus on safety.\nWorking Conditions\nClean and organized production environment.\nOvertime may be required based on production needs.\nPhysical tasks include standing, lifting, and handling tools and components.\nPhysical Demands\nAbility to stand, sit, and lift for extended periods.\nAbility to lift up to [weight in pounds] as necessary for the assembly of products.\nIf you have what it takes to push boundaries and seize opportunities, apply to join our team today.\nVIAVI Solutions is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer - minorities/females/veterans/persons with disabilities.\nJob Posting Pay Range:\n14to\n26Exceptional qualifications, experience and location may impact salary.
