The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical tests on optical and electrical test equipment. This includes setting up test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and other electronic measuring instruments. In addition, this individual will also have the opportunity to learn how to use automated test systems (ATE) which are used in our production facility to test optical components and sub-assemblies.\nPre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:\nResponsibilities:\nPerforming electrical measurements of optical devices using various laboratory tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.\nSetting up fiber optic cables and connectors to establish proper test configurations.\nUsing computerized test systems to automatically test optical components and subassemblies.\nUtilizing computer software programs to generate test reports and graphs.\nCalibrating test equipment to ensure accurate measurement results.\nAssisting engineers in research and development activities by preparing experimental setups and data acquisition.\nPreparing samples and test hardware for experiments.\nCleaning and maintaining lab equipment and work areas.\nBill of Materials creation\nComponent creation for component library\nQualifications:\nElectrical Technologist diploma or equivalent.\nBasic knowledge of electrical schematics, and soldering\nBasic knowledge of fiber optics and associated test equipment.\nExperience with basic hand tools and computer software applications.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to follow instructions and procedures in a team environment.\nWillingness to learn new techniques and technologies.\nGood communication skills and ability to document results.\nIf you have what it takes to push boundaries and seize opportunities, apply to join our team today.\nVIAVI Solutions is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer - minorities/females/veterans/persons with disabilities.\nJob Posting Pay Range:\n39,078to\n72,573Exceptional qualifications, experience and location may impact salary.
