We will scope the responsibilities to what you bring, but the breadth is the point: if you want a narrow assignment with a stable product mix, this is not it. If you want to see the entire operation early in your career and be given room to fix what is broken, read on.\nWhat you'll do\nProcess & manufacturing engineering\nDevelop, document, and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard work for new and existing products \nPerform time studies, line balancing, and work-content analysis. \nCollaborate with engineering to design and improve workstations, fixtures, tooling, and material presentation for ergonomics, throughput, and quality. \nSupport factory layout and material flow work, including equipment moves and cell reconfigurations. \nSupport new product introduction as a manufacturing voice - DFM feedback, first-article build support, pilot runs, and transition to production. \nCapacity, planning & scheduling support\nHelp build and maintain the capacity model: work-center utilization, labor availability, bottleneck identification, and load-versus-capacity over a rolling horizon. \nPartner with production planning on constraint analysis, build sequencing, and realistic commit dates. \nModel the operational impact of demand changes, staffing scenarios, and shift structures. \nIdentify bottlenecks and drive corrective action, whether that is tooling, cross-training, layout, or outsourcing. \nAnalysis & reporting\nBuild reporting and analysis tools that give production, planning, and leadership actionable visibility into throughput, labor, and schedule performance \nPull and reconcile data from ERP and shop floor sources to answer operational questions quickly and accurately \nTurn analysis into recommendations that hold up to scrutiny - show the math, state the assumptions, and quantify the impact \nSupport testing and rollout of new manufacturing execution capability from the user side \nQuality & continuous improvement\nParticipate in root cause analysis and corrective action for process-driven defects \nDrive lean and continuous improvement activity - kaizen events, 5S, standard work, waste elimination - with measured before-and-after results \nCost & make-versus-buy\nSupport product cost modeling grounded in actual routing and labor data \nQuantify and justify capital requests, automation proposals, and process investments \nPre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:\nRequired qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline \n0-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or operations engineering role; new graduates with relevant internship or co-op experience are encouraged to apply \nCoursework or working experience in time study, work measurement, process design, and capacity analysis \nFamiliarity with how an ERP/MRP system drives production planning and shop floor execution \nStrong analytical skills with advanced Excel; comfort building your own tools rather than waiting for IT \nAbility to communicate credibly with machine operators, technicians, engineers, and executives - often in the same day \nWillingness to spend real time on the floor \nPreferred qualifications\nHigh-mix, low-volume exposure - configured-to-order, engineered-to-order, or job-shop environments \nElectronics or electromechanical assembly and test background \nExperience in an AS9100, ISO 9001, or ISO 13485 environment \nScripting or data automation experience (Python, SQL, VBA) \nLean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) \nCAD proficiency for layout, fixture design, or tooling \nWorking conditions\nOn-site role in an office and manufacturing environment; regular time on the production floor \nOccasional lifting up to [25-50] lbs; standing and walking for extended periods \nRequired PPE including safety glasses and ESD protection \nTravel between manufacturing sites as needed \nEligibility\nThis position requires access to information subject to U.S. export control regulations (ITAR/EAR).
