VIAVI employees are passionate about supporting customer success and we welcome people who bring their best every day to the company - to question, to collaborate and to push for solutions that will delight our customers.\nDuties & Responsibilities:\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nDesign, configure and maintain an R&D network lab infrastructure for product Quality Assurance testing\nWork within the R&D team of the Morrisville, NC office, near the Research Triangle Park, and with VIAVI colleagues located worldwide \nBuild network test environments in coordination with the application development and product management teams to emulate customer networks and support quality assurance processes.\nWrite automation test code to verify the network configuration and to support the quality assurance process for product features\nAssist software development teams in the design and diagnosis of network performance criteria for systems deployed and emulated in the lab. \n Qualifications:\nBS/BA degree, or an AAS with equivalent hands-on work experience\n3+ years of experience building, configuring, and troubleshooting switched and routed Ethernet networks in a lab, test, or production environment\nDesire to support the full product development lifecycle, including system maintenance, expansion planning, and technology updates\nExperience with switched and routed networks, including configuring Cisco switches and routers via CLI and through scripting\nSolid understanding of IP routing, BGP, OSPF, static routes, and core network services such as DHCP and DNS\nKnowledge of network diagnostics, including packet analysis and monitoring tools\nAbility to rack & stack network equipment, test instruments, and compute systems\nExperience with programming languages for automation (Python and automation test frameworks)\nExperience with agentic code generation and maintenance\nAdditional preferred qualifications:\nRelevant certifications (CCNA/CCNP or equivalent)\nFamiliarity with Ethernet test equipment (traffic generators/analyzers) and industry test methodologies (e.g., RFC 2544, Y.1564)\nUse of Atlassian project management tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo) and Git repository usage\nExperience with the use of CI/CD pipelines for test automation delivery\nExperience with virtual server infrastructure, including VMware, OpenStack, or Proxmox\nExperience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) for scalable test infrastructure\nPre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:\nIf you have what it takes to push boundaries and seize opportunities, apply to join our team today.\nVIAVI Solutions is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer -
