This position will work directly on the production floor to provide hands-on training, coaching, and reinforcement of established work procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and manufacturing processes.\nThe Floor Trainer will support the onboarding of new employees and the continued development of existing employees by demonstrating proper work methods, evaluating employee progress, identifying areas where additional training is needed, and providing one-on-one or small-group instruction based on individual skill levels.\nThis role will work closely with production employees, supervisors, and other members of the operations team to help ensure employees receive consistent and effective training. The Floor Trainer will also assist with maintaining training records, communicating training requirements, and supporting FEM/5S initiatives.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the onboarding and floor training of new employees.\nProvide hands-on, job-specific training to employees in the production environment.\nWork alongside employees to demonstrate proper manufacturing methods, processes, and work procedures.\nTrain and assist employees in developing proficiency in the operation of specific machinery, equipment, tools, or manufacturing processes.\nEvaluate employee understanding and skill development and identify areas requiring additional training or reinforcement.\nConduct training based on individual employee experience and skill level.\nReinforce established safety procedures, quality expectations, standardized work practices, and production requirements.\nProvide coaching and retraining when gaps in knowledge, skill, or proper work procedures are identified.\nAssist employees in developing manufacturing skills, including applicable coating and lining processes.\nDemonstrate proper use of measuring tools and application of basic shop math as required by the position being trained.\nPresent technical information and training requirements using hands-on demonstrations, PowerPoint presentations, short videos, and other approved training materials.\nAssist with the rollout and communication of training programs in a timely and consistent manner.\nPrepare and deliver manufacturing training sessions and assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training based on employee understanding and successful application of the required skills.\nTrack employee training progress and maintain accurate training records and documentation.\nCommunicate training progress, identified skill gaps, and additional training needs to appropriate supervision or management.\nPromote consistency in training by reinforcing established procedures and approved work methods.\nServe as a positive example of safe work practices, quality, teamwork, professionalism, and accountability on the production floor.\nAssist with FEM/5S activities and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.\nPerform other training-related duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nEducation, Experience, Skills, and Personal Attributes\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.\nExperience in a manufacturing and/or steel fabrication environment required.\nPrevious experience training, mentoring, coaching, or assisting employees in a manufacturing environment preferred.\nStrong working knowledge of manufacturing processes and production-floor practices.\nFamiliarity with coatings and linings preferred.\nGood understanding of shop math, including fractions and decimals, preferred.\nAbility to accurately read a tape measure and use applicable measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers, preferred.\nAbility to read and interpret drawings and blueprints desired.\nComputer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications, preferred.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills required.\nAbility to effectively demonstrate processes and explain technical information in a clear, practical manner.\nGood problem-solving skills and the ability to recognize when an employee may require additional instruction or reinforcement.\nMust be patient, approachable, professional, and comfortable working with employees with varying levels of experience.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with production employees and supervision.\nMust be self-motivated, dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.\nAbility to maintain accurate training documentation and follow established training standards.\nMust demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous
