Depending on your track, you might build and launch applications using Ruby on Rails (or a similar framework in Python or Elixir); create interactive components and applications; or bring designs to life with accessible, responsive interfaces in HTML and CSS. You'll build and launch several applications, starting with smaller projects and culminating in your own custom creation. Along the way, you'll learn industry best practices for testing, including test-driven development. You'll join team meetings, code reviews, and pair programming sessions. You'll also sit in on client meetings to see how development expectations are defined from the outset.\nThe Basics\nThe internship is offered atour office in downtown Boulder, CO. \nThe internship lasts 10 weeks, from June 7 to August 13. Viget is closed on June 18th and July 5th.\nInterns are expected to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday (usually 9-5, but we can be somewhat flexible).\nBenefits\nWe offer a $6,000/summer stipend, paid monthly on a pro rata basis. Course credit is also an option.\nWe provide free coffee, seltzer, soda, and snacks in the office.\nWe provide free lunch once a week to all staff (including interns).\nWe offer several opportunities to connect with coworkers each week, both in-person and virtually, including our weekly all-hands meeting.\nYou’ll experience Viget at its most vigorous by participating in summer activities, challenges, hang-outs, etc.\nOur Interns\nHave the permanent, legal right to work in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship for any type of employment visa, including F-1 (OPT/CPT), H-1B, TN, O-1, or any other temporary or student-based work authorization.\nAre currently enrolled in college. We will review first-year graduate students and first or second year college students, but preference will be given to juniors and seniors in college.\nHave a track record of hard work and success. We look for students who like responsibility, see things through, and take pride in a job well done.\nAre strong communicators and effective collaborators.\nOur Application Developer Interns\nHave had significant coursework in computer science (major not required).\nKnow Ruby on Rails (or a similar web application framework) or can learn it fast.\nHave an insatiable curiosity.
