About the role

The HSE Business Partner supports the delivery of integrated health, safety and environmental initiatives across Vinarchy’s South Australian operations. Based at Rowland Flat, the role works closely with operational leaders and teams and supports the broader HSE team across Australian sites as required, helping to prevent harm, strengthen environmental performance, maintain compliance and deliver practical, sustainable operational outcomes.

Operating within complex, high-risk manufacturing environments, you will support the development and governance of ISO-aligned HSE management systems, internal standards and procedures. Reporting to the Head of HSE, AU, you will act as a trusted partner to site leaders, providing practical advice on health and safety risk, environmental aspects and impacts, regulatory compliance, assurance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with operational leaders and teams to identify health and safety hazards and environmental aspects, assess risks and impacts, and implement practical controls across manufacturing and vineyard operations.
  • Support the implementation, review and consistent application of HSE management systems, standards and procedures aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, including legal obligations, environmental licences and approvals.
  • Lead or facilitate investigations into health, safety and environmental incidents and non-conformances, complete root-cause analysis and learning-from-events activities, and verify that corrective actions are effective and completed on time.
  • Plan and conduct HSE audits, inspections and verification activities; monitor health, safety and environmental performance and trends; and advise leaders on legislative, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support environmental compliance and improvement programs covering waste, water, emissions, energy and chemical management; assess environmental impacts; and work with stakeholders to improve resource efficiency and deliver practical sustainability outcomes.
  • Coach supervisors, frontline teams, Health and Safety Representatives and environmental champions to build capability and support effective consultation.
  • Develop and deliver engaging health, safety and environmental training, and awareness programs that build capability, support compliance and reinforce consistent operational practices.
  • Support occupational hygiene, health monitoring, injury management, contractor safety and emergency management, and embed health, safety and environmental considerations into management-of-change activities.

What You’ll Bring:

  • At least five years’ experience in an integrated HSE role within manufacturing or a similar high-risk operational environment, with demonstrated exposure to both health and safety and environmental management.
  • A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, environmental management or a related discipline.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian WHS and environmental legislation, including experience supporting audits, licence and approval compliance, regulatory reporting and regulator interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence an interdependent safety culture and support the transformation of safety culture through visible leadership, engagement and shared accountability.
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and support positive change.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering engaging health, safety and environmental training, and awareness programs for leaders and operational teams.
  • Practical experience in incident investigation, risk and impact assessment, environmental compliance and improvement, contractor management, emergency management and operational assurance.
  • Lead Auditor training, formal incident investigation training, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or return-to-work experience will be highly regarded.
  • A current unrestricted driver’s licence and flexibility for occasional out-of-hours work and interstate travel.
