The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, strong in Excel, and comfortable working with large data sets while maintaining organization.\nPrepare, record and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, reclasses and adjustments. \nCalculate and book monthly accruals for expenses. \nMaintain prepaid and accrued liability schedules and amortize them each month. \nMaintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals and monthly depreciation. \nSupport the month-end and year-end close checklist and meet close deadlines. \nReconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, including cash, credit card clearing, inventory, prepaids, accruals and intercompany. \nReconcile bank and merchant/credit card processor activity to store sales and deposits. \nInvestigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner and escalate unusual items. \nAssist with accounts payable cycle: invoice entry, three-way match, vendor setup and payment runs. \nConfirm subledger balances (AP, fixed assets, inventory) agree to the general ledger. \nTie out figures in management reports, board packages and lender reporting before they are distributed. \nSupport process improvements, documentation of procedures and internal controls. \nAssist with ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed. \nQualifications/Experience We’re Looking For:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting\n2-4 years of general ledger accounting experience; retail or multi-location experience a plus\nSolid understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting and the month-end close process\nHands-on experience preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations\nAdvanced Excel skills: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, SUMIFS, data validations and building clean, reusable schedules\nStrong data management skills: comfortable extracting, cleaning and reconciling large data sets from ERP and point-of-sale systems\nAbility to manage recurring deadlines and prioritize during close\nClear written and verbal communication with accounting, store operations and outside auditors. \nV Opco, LLC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any applicant or employee because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, genetic information, age, or military or veteran status or any other status protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
