The role involves developing, commissioning and supporting control system software integration for industrial automation projects across multiple sectors. You will collaborate with project managers, control system hardware engineers, suppliers and customers to develop, implement and test PLC, HMI and SCADA solutions that meet project requirements, safety standards and client expectations.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop clear, maintainable and well-documented control system software (PLC, HMI, SCADA etc) using industry standard platforms (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens).\n\nOn-site commissioning, integration and testing of control systems, in line with safety and site regulations.\n\nCreate and review control system documentation (e.g. functional design specifications).\n\nLead and participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).\n\nCollaborate with multiple departments and team members to ensure projects are delivered on time, in budget and to agreed specifications.\n\nProvide technical support, troubleshooting and remote diagnostics of control system software.\n\nEnsure all software and documentation comply with company SHEQ procedures, project specifications and industry best practice.\n\nContribute to continuous improvement, standardisation of control libraries, templates and reusable code assets.\n\nCoach and mentor junior members of the software team.\n\nAttend client meetings and site visits as required, maintaining professional communication and accurate project records.\n\nAbout You\nProven experience in developing and commissioning control system software.\n\nPractical knowledge of one or more PLC and SCADA platforms, ideally one being Rockwell Automation control systems.\n\nCompetent in producing control system documentation.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex software and integration issues.\n\nOrganised and detail-focused, able to manage multiple tasks and meet tight project deadlines.\n\nGood communicator, comfortable working collaboratively with multi-disciplined teams, clients and suppliers.\n\nFamiliarity with relevant standards and safe systems of work for industrial control systems.\n\nFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites and supplier facilities, with a large percentage of the on-site activities requiring international travel.\n\nQualifications & Experience\nHNC/HND, degree or equivalent qualification in electrical, control systems, software engineering or a related discipline, desirable.\n\nExperience in control system software development, commissioning and testing.\n\nExperience working within SHEQ frameworks and following documented procedures.\n\nManufacturer or platform specific training and certifications, desirable.\n\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive salary and pension provision.\n\nAccess to ongoing professional development, training and manufacturer courses.\n\nSupportive team environment with clear progression opportunities within Actemium and VINCI Energies.\n\nHealth and wellbeing benefits.\n\nVaried projects to develop and gain a broad technical expertise.\n\nActemium Automation Peterborough is committed to equality of opportunity.
