No two projects are the same, giving you the opportunity to think creatively, solve complex challenges, and develop practical engineering solutions that make a real impact.\nThe role is primarily office-based design work, supported by practical engineering experience, providing a strong foundation for a career as a professional EC&I engineer.\nWhat you’ll do at work\nWork as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team delivering projects of national importance across the nuclear energy, defence, and decommissioning sectors. You'll gain experience throughout the entire design lifecycle, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to detailed design and manufacture.\n\nSupport the planning and execution of engineering and design activities, producing engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation. You'll develop practical skills using industry-leading tools and technologies such as AutoCAD, Inventor, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and 3D printing.\n\nYour training plan\nAs a Degree Apprentice, you'll combine academic study with hands-on workplace experience, allowing you to apply the knowledge gained through your university studies directly to real engineering projects. This blend of learning and practical application will help you develop the technical skills, professional behaviours, and industry understanding needed to build a successful career in the nuclear sector.\n\nThroughout your apprenticeship, you'll progressively take on greater responsibility while being supported by experienced engineers and mentors.
