The role supports both current operations and future programmes, contributing to the delivery and assurance of critical infrastructure within a highly regulated environment.\nYou will work alongside Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Building Services and Piping Engineers, collectively responsible for the development, assessment and maintenance of Engineering Design Substantiation. This work ensures that design intent, critical safety factors, and safety and operational requirements are satisfied in accordance with current legislation, regulation and recognised good practice.\nKey Accountabilities\nAuthor, develop, assess, maintain and manage engineering design substantiation documentation\nProduce and manage design change and concession documentation\nPresent design substantiation to formal nuclear safety governance and assurance committees\nDevelop and maintain Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing (EIMT) schedules and associated procedures\nProduce and assess Periodic Review of Safety (PRS) reports\nProvide technical advice and direction to internal and external stakeholders\nProduce scopes of work for Independent Technical Assessments and Independent Peer Reviews\nApply general and specialist civil/structural engineering knowledge, including emerging technologies\nUndertake design, assessment and through-life support of assets within a nuclear/high-risk environment\nProduce robust technical justifications for civil/structural design modifications\nReview external contractor submissions, safety cases and technical reports\nCheck and peer-review calculations and technical documentation produced by colleagues\nOccupational Skills and Knowledge\nMinimum 5 years’ experience in the design and assessment of reinforced concrete and steel structures subject to dynamic loading (e.g. seismic, blast, wind, snow and environmental loads)\nExperience working with reinforced concrete structuresProven ability to produce robust technical justifications for design modifications in a high-hazard industry\n\nExperience applying theoretical and practical engineering methods throughout the full asset lifecycle\nAbility to combine general and specialist engineering knowledge in complex environments\nStrong knowledge of British Standards, Eurocodes, and relevant structural design codes\nEmployee Staff Benefits:\n8.5% Pension Contribution & Life Assurance\nPrivate Medical Scheme*\nEmployee Share Scheme\nSalary Sacrifice Schemes: Electrical Vehicles, Technology and Cycle to Work\n25 days holiday (increasing to 28 days after 5 years’ service, 31 days after 10 years’ service)\nOption to buy, sell and carry over up to 5 days annual leave per year\nIn partnership with trade unions\nGym Discounts\nPersonal Development & Further Education Support\nLong Service & Recognition Awards\nFree Employee Assistance Programme\n*After 1 year of service.\nNuvia is a subsidiary of VINCI construction -
