Additional personally owned handtools will be required for your duties which must also be used, maintained and stored correctly.\n· Comply with NorPower Health & Safety, Environment and Quality Policies taking responsibility for your own, your colleagues’ and any visitors to the workplace’s health and safety.\n· Maintain a safe, clean and tidy work environment including correct handling, use and storage of any hazardous substances in accordance with COSHH regulations and assessments. No new substance should be used until a COSHH risk assessment has been carried out and appropriate controls in place.\n· Ensure all waste arising from servicing, maintenance and repair is disposed of in accordance with current regulations and relevant records are obtained.\n· Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions, and comply with safety rules/procedures, regulations and codes of practice.\n· Carry out daily/task risk assessments and ensure full understanding of tasks before commencing work and appropriate controls are implemented\n· Consult management if you become aware of any unsafe practice or condition, or if in any doubt about the safety of any situation.\n· Consult management if you become aware of the mis-use or lack of basic maintainance checks being carried out on any item of plant or equipment and road going vehicles including HGV’s\n· Report all accidents and near misses\n· PPE issued to you by the company must be used in accordance with the result of risk assessments, stored in a suitable manner/location and maintained in good condition. All PPE must be checked before use and any defects reported.\n· All work tools, plant and equipment must be used correctly and safely in accordance with manufacturer instructions and training provided. Report any defects found.\n· Employees must not use any plant or equipment unless trained and authorised to do so.\n· Assisting with other duties and tasks as appropriate for the needs of the business\nKey interfaces\nRelationships with key stakeholders:\n· Business Unit General Managers\n· Client Representatives\n· Project Managers\n· External stakeholders, e.g. client, authorities\nPerson Specification\nQualifications and experience\nThe jobholder shall be a motivated self-starter and possess:\n· Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field\n· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role\n· Good written and verbal communication skills\n· Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure\n· Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team\n· Full UK Driving License\n· Competent in the operation of items of plant such as forklifts, telehandlers, MEWPs etc. and in safe loading/unloading of HGVs\nDesirable:\nFirst aid training\nIOSH Managing Safely or equivalent\nValues\nIn line with Omexom’s values, the jobholder must have the following qualities:\nTeam Spirit & Generosity -
