Our diverse portfolio offers the opportunity to develop specialist expertise, work alongside industry-leading professionals and build a rewarding career while contributing to projects of national significance.\nJoin NUVIA and be part of a growing organisation where you can make a lasting impact on society, industry and future generations, while benefiting from meaningful career development.\nDescription of the assignment\nSenior Structural Engineers make up the body of the engineering department and are responsible for carrying out the day-to-day developments of the design through the design process.\nThe Senior Structural Engineer is fundamentally a hands-on analysis and design-based role within the Civil & Structural department that generally includes interfacing with other engineering disciplines in the project design team.\nThe Senior Structural Engineer also has a shared managerial responsibility in respect of Graduates, Apprentices and/or Designers in the team as and when required to do so.\nTo be considered for the Senior Structural Engineer position the applicant must be delivering functions above that of a Design Engineer.\nReporting to\nPrincipal Engineer.\nKey Accountabilities\nPreparation of design documentation throughout the design process\nDevelopment of designs to satisfy technical specifications\nPrepare supporting design calculations to substantiate design\nContribution to design reviews\nPreparation of technical specifications\nPreparation of risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures\nEssential\nKnowledge of the fundamentals of structures and foundations using\nReinforced Concrete and Structural Steel.\nDesign experience in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel.\nKnowledge and understanding of Structural steel connections and connection types.\nDemonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position\nAbility to work to tight deadlines,\nA strong team player.\nDesirable\nNuclear experience or experience from within a highly regulated industry,\nA full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with overnight stays overs occasionally\nExperience of supervision.\nOccupational Skills and Knowledge\nA recognised Engineering Certificate such as HNC / HND / Degree\nNuvia -
