Delivery of all design and engineering to meet the requirements of Design Reviews and HAZOPs within Project procedures. Supervision of less experienced engineering employees, engineering resource management and interviews.\n Position in Organisation:\n · Reporting to Principal Engineers with ultimate line management responsibilities being with the Chief Engineer within your discipline\n · Normally supervises a design or project team of up to 5 engineering staff, although the team may be supplemented by staff from elsewhere.\n · Responsible for the allocation of work and managing quality, progress and cost of the work carried out within the project\n · Responsible for managing project subcontracts\n · Regularly interacts with clients and managers of other engineering disciplines\n · Responsible for communications within project team\n Profile\nKey Accountabilities:\n · Design, Specification, Procurement, Supply/Manufacture Liaison, Installation, Acceptance Testing, Commissioning and Operator Training in Nuclear Engineering Projects\n · Checking and approval of project deliverables\n · Liaison with other disciplines\n · Technical Consultancy\n · Project Management including quality, progress and cost control including documentation\n · Sales Support and Customer care\n · Manage Contractors and Sub Contractors, Staff Development\n · Manage safety by developing and reinforcing the safety culture, compliance with safety regulations (eg. CDM and CE marking), and the application of safety systems\n · Compliance with statutory regulations\n Experience and attributes required for the role:\n Essential:\n Degree qualified in a relevant technical / engineering discipline or demonstrable experience\nA full UK driver’s licence\nWorking towards Chartered Engineer status\nMinimum 5 years’ experience in the Nuclear industry\nUnderstanding of design requirements to support nuclear safety cases\nExperience of managing sub-contracts\nKnowledge of safety regulations including CDM\nExperience of checking design documentation including drawings and supporting calculations\nExperience and/or ability of leading a technical team within a professional project delivery environment\nOrganisation & Collaborations skills\nDemonstrable expertise in working to tight deadlines\nDesirable:\n Chartered Engineer and candidates nearing chartership are preferred. Membership to appropriate institutions is preferred e.g. IET\nEC&I design integration with control systems (PLC/SCADA) would be advantageous.\nExperience of Design Substantiation to support safety cases including assessment of new and existing systems.\nAdditional experience obtained within the Defence sector would be advantageous.\nSubsidiary of VINCI Construction, and division of the world-leading VINCI Group, NUVIA is an international company that operates world-wide on highly regulated and sensitive industrial sites, and has done for decades.
