We are looking for a focused, enthusiastic and skilled Senior/Principal Engineer to join the Analysis Team and to integrate with project design teams as required. You will be delivering finite element solutions and manual calculations to support design and installation consultancy projects for internal and external clients.\nSenior/Principal Stress Engineers are responsible for a complete package of work, normally in the form of a Calculation or FE Analysis report. You may be responsible for the checking and approval of deliverables as well as ensuring that industry standards and quality procedures are met. Safety in design is NUVIA's highest priority and the Senior/Principal Engineer is a fundamental role in achieving this.\nKey responsibilities as a Senior or Principal Stress Engineer:\nWorking in the NUVIA Analysis Team you will report to the Analysis team leader and be responsible for:\nCarrying out FE analysis and hand calculations for consultancy projects for the substantiation of designs\nSupervise colleagues and coordinate small teams, depending on experience, and be responsible for the quality of output\nThis role would be customer facing and include supporting our clients in the identification and clarification of their requirements\nCreating analysis reports, technical requirements, plans and estimates\nEnsure tasks are carried out to the required scope and budget constraints\nChecking calculations and analysis by other engineers\nDeveloping junior engineers or subcontractors through task supervision\nQualifications & Experience\nEssential:\n A passion for engineering and problem solving, with an excellent grasp of mechanical concepts and all types of loading, stress and failure,\nExpertise in hand and FEA calculations and either ANSYS, CAESAR II, LS-DYNA, Hyperworks, or Staad Pro/Robot,\nUnderstanding of Industry codes and standards,\nDemonstrable performance in technical leadership, delivery within time and budget constraints, rigour and commitment to customer requirements, desire to improve our business, development/supervision of other engineers,\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in client-facing roles, to present results and formal analysis reports, adapting styles as appropriate,\nAptitude for working creatively within multi-disciplinary project teams, integrating stress analysis into the design process,\nFirst or upper second-class degree in a relevant mechanical subject.\nDesirable:\nExperience in the nuclear sector,\nExperience of wider design process, ability to develop technical deliverables such as drawings and specs outside of analysis work, with broad experience of requirements, drawing production, materials and manufacturing methods,\nUnderstanding of Inventor & AutoCAD of general 3D design tools,\nKnowledge analytical principles and methods related to Dynamic loading and response, Fatigue & Fracture, Seismic, Blast, Thermal or Fluids,\nAbility to apply the following Industry Standards: Eurocodes, BS EN 13001, BS 2573, ASME III & VIII, BS EN 13480, ANSI B31.3 or B31.1,CEng / Member of a relevant institution (IMechE or IET).\n\nEmployee Staff Benefits:\n8.5% Employer Pension Contribution with Life Assurance Cover\nPrivate Medical Scheme*\nEmployee Share Scheme\nFlexible and hybrid working, in agreement with local line management.\n25 Days Annual Leave (increasing to 28 days after 5 years’ service, 31 days after 10 years’ service)\nOption to buy, sell and carry over up to 5 days annual leave per year.\nSalary Sacrifice Schemes18 Weeks Full Maternity Pay* (+21w SMP)\nIn Partnership with Trade Unions\nPersonal Development & Further Education Support\nLong Service & Recognition Awards\nFantastic Employee Discounts\nFree Employee Assistance Programme\n*After 1 year of service.\nNUVIA UK -
