Our diverse portfolio offers the opportunity to develop specialist expertise, work alongside industry-leading professionals and build a rewarding career while contributing to projects of national significance.\nJoin NUVIA and be part of a growing organisation where you can make a lasting impact on society, industry and future generations, while benefiting from meaningful career development\nILIOS Overview\nILIOS is the Construction Partner for the UK’s STEP (Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production) fusion programme, the UK’s world-leading programme to design and build a prototype fusion energy power plant at West Burton in Nottinghamshire.\nILIOS is a consortium led by a joint venture between Kier and Nuvia, supported by AECOM, AL_A and Turner & Townsend, bringing together extensive experience across major national infrastructure, nuclear and safety-critical engineering, complex site transformation, programme and cost management, and world-class design.\nWorking as part of the public-private sector integrated team led by UK Fusion Energy (UKFE), a wholly owned subsidiary of the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), ILIOS is embedded in the programme as STEP transitions from planning into delivery.\nThe consortium supports the design and construction of buildings, infrastructure and facilities across the STEP site, alongside constructability, programme planning, site management, supply-chain engagement and project controls, helping to ensure delivery is safe, buildable and fully integrated with the wider programme.\nThe appointment of ILIOS marks a significant milestone in the UK’s transition to clean energy and supports STEP’s mission to demonstrate fusion energy and develop a world-leading fusion supply chain, creating long-term economic and skills opportunities for the UK.\nRole:\nWorking embedded within the STEP Design Authority team.\nReport the STEP V&V Manager\nProvide the structural engineering expertise for Verification planning\nWrite and build verification plans for structural aspects across IPTs 1,2,3,4,5\nLead/Own the verification activities on IPT 4 and 5\nConsult with experts from other disciplines to build verifications plan within your scope.\nSupport central V&V team methods, processes, integration, planning, forecasting.\nJob description:\nRecommend Principal Level Structural Engineer.\nStructural engineering design experience\nDesk / paper-based verification experience.\nIdeally Site based verification experience.\nDesirable - Novel structures and builds.\nVerification experience examples:\nDesign Basis Verification\nStructural Analysis Verification\nStructural Design Verification\nConnection and Detail Verification\nFoundation Interface Verification\nBuildability Verification\nCompliance /Standards Verification\nIndependent Assurance\nSoft Skills Requirement: An experienced individual who is happy to own and produce their own outputs with energy and interest in the novel aspects of STEP and an open mindedness to work in an uncertain environment.\n· Candidates must be able to obtain NUVIA BPSS to start.
