We aim to develop engineering and construction services for large infrastructure projects in various parts in the United States and provide a highly skilled and competitive professional service in construction field.\n Project Overview\n The Walsh-VINCI Transit Community Partners (WVTCP) Joint Venture consisting of VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Walsh Construction has been selected to construct the $2.9BN Design Build Red Line Extension (RLE) project - the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA).\n The RLE Mainline Design-Build (MDB) Project will extend the CTA's Red Line by 5.6 miles, extending from the existing terminal at 95th/Dan Ryan south to 130th Street and Doty Avenue.Learn more about the RLE project at the WVTCP-RLE website here!\n Responsibilities:\n As a Project Accountant, you will support the financial management of a major infrastructure project by assisting with cost tracking, invoice processing, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance activities. Working closely with project management and finance teams, the role helps ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and effective budget monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.\n Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports, ensuring proper coding and supporting documentation.\nAssist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice verification and payment tracking.\nPerform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy.\nSupport month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and accruals.\nAssist in monitoring project costs against budgets and provide financial data to support project reporting.\nPrepare and maintain financial schedules, reports, and supporting documentation for audits and internal reviews.\nCollaborate with project managers and operational teams to collect and validate financial information.\nEnsure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal control procedures.\nMaintain electronic and physical accounting records in accordance with record retention requirements.\nSupport the preparation of cash flow forecasts and budget updates as requested by the Controller.\nAssist with payroll-related reconciliations and project labor cost tracking, where applicable.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting processes and reporting efficiency.\nPerforms other related duties as required and assigned. \n Qualifications and Skills:\n Required:\n Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.\nApproximately 1 year of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or finance-related experience. \nBasic understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliations. \nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. \nStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.\nGood verbal and written communication skills. \nAbility to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.\nStrong organizational and problem-solving skills. \nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.\n Preferred:\n Experience supporting a construction, engineering, infrastructure, or project-based environment. \nFamiliarity with ERP/accounting software (e.g., Oracle, JD Edwards, SAP, Viewpoint, Deltek, or similar systems). \nExposure to project cost tracking, budgeting, or job cost accounting. \nUnderstanding of invoice processing, vendor management, and month-end close activities. \nExperience working with large volumes of financial data and documentation. \nFamiliarity with internal controls and financial compliance procedures. \nExperience working in a client/consultant or project delivery environment.\n Salary Range:\n $63,000.00 - $78,000.00\n Work Environment:\n This position is primarily performed in a professional office and project-site office environment.\n\n The employee will regularly work with computers, financial systems, spreadsheets, electronic records, and standard office equipment.\n\n The role requires frequent interaction and collaboration with accounting, finance, project management, procurement, and other project personnel.\n\n The employee may occasionally be required to visit active project or construction areas.
