Kintore substation upgrades is a suite of complex programmes integral to the Transmission Network Operator’s upgrade of the East Coast Transmission Network. As the Senior Planner you will take the lead in driving the programme to completion. Through the provision of technical / contractual support and training of the planning staff\nResponsibilities\nTo be the focal point for planning functions within the business unit. Providing the requisite leadership and drive to delivery a complex suite of programmes.\n\nTo provide guidance to the PM in critical and near critical activities.\n\nTo provide guidance to the PM in activities required for each stage of project delivery.\n\nTo provide guidance to the PM on opportunities and risks within the programmes.\n\nTo provide programme submissions and reports to the client as required by the contract.\n\nTo capture progress and change routinely to meet the requirements within the contract and to implement processes to ensure this as required.\n\nTo communicate the impact of change and / or delays to the PM and to provide guidance to the PM on opportunities and risks within the programmes.\n\nTo provide training and development in planning methodologies to planning staff junior to the Senior Planner\n\nTo provide training in the use of planning software to graduate, trainee and apprentice planners.\n\nTo provide training in other planning software to PMO staff as required\n\nTo support PMO with the development, control, monitoring, analysis and reporting on schedule related aspects for designated projects within a Portfolio.\n\nEssential criteria\nIt is essential that the successful candidate is an excellent communicator with all stakeholders (internal and external), a commercially focused self-starter with the enthusiasm, motivation and initiative to succeed in this role.\nThe jobholder must possess:\nWorking knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation.\n\nExtensive knowledge of Primavera P6 and good knowledge of other planning software, Asta, Microsoft Project etc.\n\nHigh level of numeracy and excellent analytical skills.\n\nExcellent MS Office skills, well versed in the preparation of reports and information using packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.\n\nExhibits a strong awareness of the level of interaction required with the project team function to support the successful delivery of projects.\n\nThe ability to reconcile cost information as it applies to the programmes of work.\n\nProficient in the interpretation of estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools.\n\nSelf motivated with good interpersonal skills working in a team environment.\n\nGood attention to detail with good time management skills.\n\nExcellent communication and presentational skills.\n\nDesirable\nExpert knowledge of Primavera P6 and good knowledge of other planning software, Asta, Microsoft Project etc.\n\nUnderstanding of NEC3/4 contracts, in particular the programme deliverables / requirements\n\nUnderstanding of DCMA Assessment Criteria, Acumen Fuse etc\n\n5 years Relevant industry experience\n\nGeneral\nThis position is based in is office based at Kintore Substation, with flexible working.\nThe salary and benefits package for this role will be on a Personal Contract basis and will be commensurate with a position at this level and dependant on
