Our diverse portfolio offers the opportunity to develop specialist expertise, work alongside industry-leading professionals and build a rewarding career while contributing to projects of national significance.\nJoin NUVIA and be part of a growing organisation where you can make a lasting impact on society, industry and future generations, while benefiting from meaningful career development.\nPurpose of the job\nTo lead decommissioning teams to safely undertake plant operations, decommissioning and dismantling of nuclear facilities, plant and equipment in accordance with approved documentation, within the boundaries and restrictions of Nuclear/Construction Sites and in direct support of specific projects.\nKey Accountabilities\nResource Management\nDecontamination: Deployment and supervision of site operatives\nDismantling: To decontaminate plant, equipment and facilities\nCare & Maintenance: To dismantle and size reduce plant and equipment\nWaste Processing: To undertake plant checks, routine maintenance of facilities and housekeeping\nEnvironment: Preparation of work areas, materials and equipment\nPlant Operations: To operate process plant and materials handling equipment in support of site activities\nDuties and Requirements\nEssential\nGood leadership and management ability\nClassified radiation worker\nBasic radiological awareness training\nPractical knowledge and experience of radiological conditions and contamination assessments\nPractical knowledge and experience of PPE, RPE and radiological monitoring systems\nPractical knowledge and experience of lifting/slinging operations\nPractical knowledge and experience of erection, operation and dismantling of temporary structures\nGood understanding of tooling and equipment and their safe application in the workplace\nReasonable level of intelligence and education, CSE/GCSE or equivalent, with some knowledge of technical terms and commercial arithmetic with basic keyboard skills\nAbility to work to written procedures in order to minimise risks to persons, property and environment\nAbility to communicate and work effectively within a team, and ability to communicate with Client teams\nExcellent health, safety and environment awareness for industrial working\nA flexible attitude to work, capability and willingness of being trained to undertake a wide range of duties including the use of standard and specialist decommissioning tooling\nUp to 1 years’ previous experience working in an industrial and/or project environment\nPhysical fitness and manual dexterity\nDesirable\nA general engineering, craft or building background and / or knowledge gained through experience and on the job training\nNVQ Level 3 (minimum or working towards)\nSSSTS\nRelevant CSCS card discipline for construction sites\nRelevant CPCS or NPORS cards for the operation of plant and equipment\nIPAF and PASMA training\nRelevant security clearance for Nuclear Licensed sites\nFull UK driving license\nEmployee Staff Benefits:\n8.5% Employer Pension Contribution with Life Assurance Cover\nPrivate Medical Scheme*\nEmployee Share Scheme\nFlexible and hybrid working, in agreement with local line management.\n25 Days Annual Leave (increasing to 28 days after 5 years’ service, 31 days after 10 years’ service)\nOption to buy, sell and carry over up to 5 days annual leave per year.\nSalary Sacrifice Schemes: Electrical Vehicles, Technology and Cycle to Work.\n18 Weeks Full Maternity Pay* (+21w SMP)\nIn Partnership with Trade Unions\nPersonal Development & Further Education Support\nLong Service & Recognition Awards\nFantastic Employee Discounts\nFree Employee Assistance Programme…..
