It is anticipated that there may be some requirement for overnight stays at site.\nThey will assist the Construction Manager to ensure that all Temporary Works are undertaken safely and in line with both SSE and legal requirements.\nThe postholder will have the authority to stop work if they feel that the work is unsafe or not authorized.\nThis is an ideal opportunity to work on a large prestige project for a Tier 1 Contractor with a visible path of progression. Omexom encourage and support their staff to develop and maximize their potential.\nResponsibilities & Duties\nDevelop, Implement and maintain Temporary Works procedures,\n\nMaintain Temporary Works registers,\n\nCoordinate Temporary Works design, checking and inspections,\n\nPlan , monitor and approve lifting operations and lift plans\n\nBrief lifting teams and stopping unsafe activities.\n\nReview Temporary Works Designs and ensure compliance with implementation and/or construction and dismantling\n\nStop any unsafe work and ensure compliance\n\nCo-ordinate all temporary works activities\n\nEnsure a temporary works register is established and maintained.\n\nEnsure that the various responsibilities have been allocated and accepted\n\nEnsure that a design brief is prepared with full consultation, is adequate and is in accordance with the actual situation on site.\n\nEnsure that any residual risks, identified at the design stage, assumed methods of construction, or loading constraints identified by the designer of the permanent works are included within the design brief\n\nEnsure that a satisfactory temporary works design is carried out\n\nEnsure that a design check is carried out by someone who was not involved in the original design; this should include:\n\nConcept\nStructural adequacy\nCompliance with the brief\nWhere appropriate, ensure that the design is made available to other interested parties e.g. the CDM-C or the designer of the permanent works\n\nRegister or record the drawings calculations and other relevant documents relating to the final design\n\nEnsure that those responsible for on-site supervision receive full details of the design, including any limitations and guidance notes associated with it and prepare a specific method statement\n\nEnsure that checks are made at appropriate stages\n\nEnsure that any proposed changes in materials or construction are checked against the original design and appropriate action taken.\n\nEnsure that any agreed changes, or correction of faults, are correctly carried out on site.\n\nEnsure that during the use of temporary works all appropriate maintenance is carried out.\n\nAfter a final check which is satisfactory, ensure a permit to load (bring into use) is issued by either the TWC or TWS, issue formal permission to load/bring into use\n\nWhen it has been confirmed that the permanent structure has gained adequate strength and/or stability, ensure a permit to unload (take out of use) the temporary work is issued by either the TWC or TWS.\n\nEnsure that a documented safe system of work is in place and implemented for the dismantling of any temporary work;\n\nEnsure that any relevant information for the health and safety file is transmitted to the CDM coordinator;\n\nIn all cases, ensure that the TWSs are operating in accordance with the approved procedures.\n\nKey interfaces\nRelationships with key stakeholders:\n· The Construction Manager\n· The SHEQ Manager\n· Omexom site staff and management\n· Subcontractors and suppliers\n· Third Party Workforces that may be affected by our works.\n· Client Construction staff and SHEQ\nPerson Specification\nQualifications and experience\nMinimum 5 years’ experience on major construction projects, infrastructure, utilities, HV or substation projects.\nIdeally Professional Qualify Engineer or HND/NVQ 4/SCQF L7-10.\n· CITB TWC,\n· SMSTS,\n· CSCS\n· Full UK Driving License\nCompetency\nRequired skills, knowledge, and abilities:\nThe TWC/AP will be an excellent communicator with all stakeholders.\n· Leadership skills\n· Strong Team Working skills\n· Customer and commercially focused\n· Planning/organisational skills\n· Resource management skills\n· Flexibility and adaptability to Change\n· Engineering knowledge and understanding -
