We hope you’ll join us and see what the smiling pink whale is all about.\nOverview\nWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivatedTax Accountant to support the company’s indirect tax and business compliance functions. This entry-level position will assist with use tax, business licenses, personal property tax, and general tax accounting activities, while working closely with the Tax, Accounting, Accounts Payable, and other cross-functional teams. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is interested in developing experience in corporate tax, compliance, and accounting operations.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport day-to-day indirect tax compliance activities, including use tax, business licenses, and personal property tax.\nReview vendor invoices and purchases for potential use tax obligations and assist with related calculations, reconciliations, and documentation.\nAssist with business license applications and renewals, including tracking deadlines and coordinating with internal teams, government agencies, and third-party providers.\nSupport personal property tax filings by gathering fixed asset information, tracking assessments and tax bills, and researching discrepancies.\nPrepare basic and recurring journal entries and general ledger reconciliations related to tax and other assigned accounting activities.\nAssist with tax notices, audits, and information requests, including gathering and maintaining supporting documentation.\nMaintain organized tax records, filing calendars, and compliance documentation.\nSupport the Senior Tax Manager with ad hoc tax, accounting, and research projects and assist with process improvements as needed.\nWhat You Bring\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.\n0-2 years of accounting or tax experience; relevant internship experience is a plus.\nBasic understanding of accounting principles and journal entries.\nStrong Excel skills and willingness to learn new systems.\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nAbility to manage multiple deadlines and follow through on open items.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nComfortable working cross-functionally and reaching out to internal and external contacts to resolve issues.\nInterest in developing a career in indirect tax and corporate accounting.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with NetSuite, Avalara, or similar ERP/tax software is a plus but not required.
