Priorities can shift quickly, so curiosity, adaptability and clear communication matter as much as technical craft.\nWhy This Role Matters\nWhy the role exists\n\nAs Mid-Level .NET Developer, you’ll design, build and maintain web applications and back-end services using C# and the .NET ecosystem, with a focus on modern, scalable solutions.\n\nYour work will support our customer-facing websites, internal applications and third-party integrations. You’ll use .NET 9.0 and Blazor to create dependable experiences that meet both user expectations and business needs.\n\nYou’ll work closely with Product, QA and colleagues across the business, taking ownership of modules and features from early requirements through to production. You’ll also contribute to greenfield builds, share knowledge through pair coding and help junior developers grow.\n\nThis is a UK-based remote role, reporting to the Lead .NET Developer, with the option to work from our Leeds office. It may involve occasional Leeds office attendance, travel to European and other international locations as we grow, and out-of-hours support when needed.\nWhat success looks like\nBuild a strong understanding of our systems, architecture and product portfolio, becoming a trusted and effective contributor.\n\nDeliver valuable features and bug fixes within reasonable timeframes using .NET 9.0, Blazor and modern engineering practices.\nWrite clean, maintainable and well-tested code that moves through review with minimal rework.\nTake ownership of modules and features from requirements and design through deployment, monitoring and production support.\nWork effectively with Product, QA and wider stakeholders to refine requirements, estimate work and flag risks or blockers early.\nImprove existing systems and development practices through modern tooling, cloud technologies, automation and focused experiments.\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nDevelopment and product delivery\n\nDevelop and maintain C# and .NET APIs, web applications and back-end services.\nBuild and maintain customer-facing experiences using Blazor or similar front-end technologies.\nDeliver internal applications and dependable integrations with third-party APIs and services.\nWork confidently with relational databases, using Entity Framework and well-designed queries to support reliable, efficient applications.\n\nQuality and engineering practice\n\nWrite and maintain unit and integration tests using xUnit or similar frameworks.\nTake part in code reviews, giving constructive feedback and responding openly to feedback from others.\nDebug and troubleshoot across the stack, using appropriate caching strategies and performance improvements where they add value.\nFollow established patterns, standards and best practices; document solutions and share useful knowledge with the team.\n\nCollaboration and delivery\n\nPartner with Product and business stakeholders to understand needs and turn them into clear, practical technical solutions.\nEstimate work thoughtfully and raise risks, dependencies or blockers early.\nSupport QA with test planning, defect investigation and timely bug resolution.\nWork across Engineering, Product, QA and Operations to deliver features that meet user expectations and business needs.\n\nOwnership, support and growth\n\nOwn features through deployment and investigate production issues in the areas you know, helping restore service and prevent recurrence.\nLead and contribute to technical discussions, pair-coding sessions and knowledge sharing, while supporting and mentoring junior team members.\nStay curious about emerging technologies, proposing and trialling tools or approaches that could simplify complexity and improve how we work.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nEssential\nThree to five years’ hands-on experience developing modern applications with C# and .NET.\nWorking knowledge of .NET 9.0 and Blazor, with experience applying them to real products or services.\nProven ability to build and maintain robust RESTful APIs.\nStrong experience with relational databases, including Entity Framework, query writing and optimisation.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions.\nExperience writing unit and integration tests with xUnit or similar frameworks such as NUnit or MSTest.\nAn understanding of caching strategies and when to use them to improve application performance.\nClear communication and effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well with Product, QA and wider stakeholders.\nConfidence with the day-to-day tools and practices needed to work effectively in a modern technology team.\nHelpful\nExposure to Azure cloud services, or a strong willingness to learn.\nExperience with .NET Aspire.\nAdaptability and the ability to switch context effectively when priorities change.\nQualifications\n\nNo specific qualifications are required.
