cross-functional initiatives from concept through production.\nThis is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates located in the United States or Canada.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn and deliver AI agent experiences end-to-end, including backend orchestration, LLM integrations, conversational interfaces, tool execution, and evaluation systems\n\nDesign scalable architectures for agentic AI systems and contribute to platform-level AI infrastructure\n\nBuild and improve shared systems such as:\nTool abstractions\n\nRetrieval pipelines / RAG systems\n\nConversation persistence\n\nEvaluation frameworks\n\nPermissioning and observability\n\nCollaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to define technical direction and product strategy\n\nMake thoughtful engineering tradeoffs balancing latency, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency\n\nImprove AI system quality through experimentation, evaluation frameworks, and continuous iteration\n\nLead or contribute to large-scale technical initiatives across multiple teams\n\nMentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across the organization\n\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience\n\nProven experience building and shipping production-grade AI/LLM-powered applications or agentic systems\n\nStrong expertise in backend development using Node.js and TypeScript\n\nExperience designing scalable distributed systems, microservices, and backend infrastructure\n\nHands-on experience with:\nTool calling\n\nPrompt engineering\n\nAgent loops\n\nAI orchestration frameworks\n\nFamiliarity with evaluation and observability tooling for non-deterministic AI systems such as:\nLangSmith\n\nBraintrust\n\nCustom evaluation frameworks\n\nFull-stack engineering experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React and TypeScript\n\nStrong understanding of databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB\n\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams\n\nDemonstrated ownership mentality and ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems at production scale\n\nPrior experience building customer-facing AI products\n\nBackground working at high-growth or venture-backed startups\n\nContributions to open-source AI tooling, agent frameworks, or developer productivity systems\n\nExperience mentoring engineers or leading technical
