The ideal candidate has expertise in business data analysis, excels at communicating technical information to non-technical audiences, and can leverage tools like SQL, Power BI, and Tableau.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:\nWork collaboratively with business process owners and data owners to ensure data-related business objectives are understood and documented.\nGather, evaluate and document business and technical requirements related to data for new systems, enhancements and defects based on business user input and data needs.\nSupport individual team members in the Data Office as well as various business units, by creating customizable, interactive tabular or visual reports with available tools such as SQL, Power BI or Tableau. Data Analysis \nDesign data-driven analysis to help fellow VRS employees improve customer experience and achieve agency objectives. \nStructure and clean large data sets. \nCollaborate with various business and technology teams to define, collect, analyze, and report data. \nCreate reports and visualizations for internal teams and stakeholders. \nPresent data-driven recommendations and findings by creating presentations, dashboards, visualizations, documentation, and reports. Data Office Support \nServe as subject matter expert on Data Analytics. \nFunction as a liaison between the business teams and IT teams for data-related initiatives. \nParticipate and assist with the VRS Change Management Process to ensure all activities flow through change management (documentation, test plans, approvals). \nManage risk and provide timely status reports and project updates to stakeholders. \nProvide cross-team support when needed to achieve technical goals, knowledge sharing, Agency Performance Outcomes (APOs), and operational measures (OMs). \nParticipate in software/hardware security reviews and implement best practices for the Data Office. \nEstablish KPIs in coordination with business units to measure the effectiveness of business decisions. \nPerform special projects as assigned. \nOther duties may be assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in computer science, information management, data science, statistics or related field, required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered\nThree to five years of experience working in data analysis, data science, and/or data warehousing\nAdvance knowledge of SQL\nKnowledge of DAX, Power BI, and/or other similar system\nExcellent communication skills including written, verbal and presentation\nAdditional Considerations:\nThree or more years of experience designing dashboards and reports using BI tools such as, Power BI and/or Tableau, or other similar software, preferred\nExperience in pension benefits management, or related industry, preferred\nWorking with Excel, Microsoft Access, Power Platform, Data Warehouse, SQL database and/or ETL development, preferred\nProficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, R, C (or similar), preferred\nSoftware development background, preferred\nSpecial Instructions:\n *VRS is unable to provide sponsorship, for this position*\nThis position follows the hybrid work model, currently requiring three days on-site and two days remote;
