Job Details

As a Business Development Manager, based in Mumbai, your primary responsibility for the company is to increase Viridien's visibility in the country, open the doors for new businesses, client relationships and network. To ensure that the company has the necessary visibility for key accounts of strategic importance to the company, within a given geographical (sub-region) perimeter.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Market Engagement

• Develop and maintain high-level relationships with NOCs, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and key industry stakeholders.
• Identify, originate, and mature new multi-client seismic opportunities across India.
• Drive business development activities, including opportunity qualification, commercial negotiations, consortium development, and strategic partnerships.
• Participate in government engagement initiatives to strengthen industry collaboration and support favorable regulatory frameworks.
• Monitor licensing rounds, lease sales, exploration activity, and client investment plans to identify new business opportunities.
• Work closely with imaging, processing and geology teams to develop and commercialize new seismic programs.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, trade missions, and technical forums to enhance market visibility and industry engagement.
• Support regional sales efforts through technical presentations, client workshops, and value demonstrations.

Technical & Geoscience Support

• Conduct basin screening and regional evaluations to identify and prioritize new multi-client project opportunities.
• Perform subsurface assessments, integrating petroleum geology, basin analysis, tectono-stratigraphy, structural interpretation, and seismic interpretation.
• Evaluate geological risks, exploration potential, and seismic imaging challenges to support project selection and investment decisions.
• Contribute technical input to survey design, acquisition planning, processing workflows, and imaging strategies.
• Prepare and deliver technical studies, presentations, and client-facing evaluations that clearly communicate project value and subsurface insights.
• Provide technical support to business development teams across the APAC region.
• Work closely with the Regional Technical Manager to develop technical solutions addressing client exploration and development challenges.
• Independently execute technical evaluations and provide balanced, commercially focused recommendations to support business growth.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• MSc or equivalent degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in oil and gas exploration, with exposure to both subsurface evaluation and commercial/business development activities.
• Strong seismic interpretation skills using industry standard software (eg. Kingdom, Petrel, DUG etc.)
• Familiarity with GIS, preferably ArcPro.
• Strong knowledge of petroleum systems, basin analysis, seismic interpretation, and exploration workflows.
• Demonstrated experience working with NOCs, government organizations, and E&P operators in India.
• Proven ability to identify, develop, and mature exploration or multi-client opportunities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
• Strong commercial acumen combined with a solid technical foundation.
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work independently in a dynamic regional environment.
