This role supports Linux systems, storage platforms, and HPC infrastructure while working under the guidance of senior engineers.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssist with installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of Linux systems.\nSupport routing operational tasks, monitoring, and health checks.\nRespond to support tickets and assist with issue resolution.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation.\nParticipate in change management processes.\nAssist with patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities.\nSupport storage, backup and data management activities.\nLearn and assist with automation and scripting.\nSupport SLURM environments and HPC users.\nFollow security policies, ITIL fundamentals, and operational standards.\nSkills & Competencies:\nEssential:\n0-2 years of Linux administration, IT support, or related experience.\nBasic Linux command-line knowledge.\nUnderstanding of hardware, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.\nBasic scripting knowledge.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work effectively within a team environment.\nDesirable:\nExposure to Linux through internships, labs, or personal projects.\nFamiliarity with Git, Ansible, Docker, or similar tools.\nUnderstanding of NAS, SAN, or backup technologies.\nExposure to HPC environments.\nEntry-level certifications such as Linux+ or Network+.\nQualifications and Experience:\n0-2 years of professional IT experience, internship experience, or equivalent technical background.\nDemonstrated interest in Linux administration, automation, cloud computing, or HPC technologies.\nBasic understanding of cybersecurity principles.\nStrong customer service orientation and willingness to learn.\nMust have legal right to live and work in the United States.\nWhy Work at CGG?\nCompetitive salary and attractive bonus scheme.\nPrivate medical and dental care programs.\nSponsorship of visas and comprehensive relocation packages (where applicable).\nLearning and development opportunities, with tailored courses and a supportive career development culture.\nFlexible work policies, including a Bank Holiday Swap and relaxed dress code.\nOur Hiring Process\nAt Viridien, we are committed to delivering a respectful, inclusive, and transparent recruitment experience.\nDue to the high volume of applications we receive, we may not be able to provide individual feedback to every applicant.
