Based within the Network Operations team at the Houston HPC Hub, this role supports enterprise, data center, cloud-connected, security, and SD-WAN environments. You will contribute to operational activities, infrastructure projects, and technology lifecycle initiatives while helping enhance the resilience, performance, and security of our global network services.\nAbout The Team\nYou will join our global Network Operations team, responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity services that support Viridien's business, operational, and research activities worldwide. Working closely with infrastructure teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our data center, cloud, enterprise, WAN, wireless, and network security platforms.\nThe team combines deep technical expertise with a collaborative, practical, and service-focused culture. We value ownership, clear communication, continuous learning, and teamwork across regions.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure across WAN, LAN, wireless, data center, cloud-connected and security environments.\n\nMonitor daily Data center operations.\n\nDeploy, configure and monitor routing, switching, firewall and network security platforms.\n\nInvestigate network incidents, contribute to root cause analysis and support preventative improvement actions.\n\nMonitor network availability, performance, health and capacity across critical services.\n\nParticipate in infrastructure projects, hardware refreshes, migrations and service improvement initiatives.\n\nWork with senior engineers to implement network enhancements and introduce new technologies.\n\nMaintain accurate technical documentation, diagrams, standards and operational procedures.\n\nSupport network security, resilience, compliance and lifecycle management activities.\n\nCollaborate with vendors, service providers and internal stakeholders to support operational and project requirements.\n\nParticipate in an on-call support rotation and occasional out-of-hours maintenance activities.\n\nQualifications\nRequired\nApproximately 3-5 years' experience supporting enterprise, datacentre, cloud-connected or service provider network environments.\nHands-on experience configuring, supporting and troubleshooting production network infrastructure.\nGood understanding of routing, switching, WAN, firewall and network security fundamentals.\nPractical knowledge of technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QoS, VPNs and TCP/IP.\nExperience using monitoring, alerting or operational management platforms.\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a practical and service-focused approach.\nAbility to work effectively within a collaborative technical team and build strong working relationships.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nDemonstrates ownership, accountability and reliability in delivering work.\nComfortable working in a global, multicultural and highly technical environment.\nPreferred\nExperience with Arista, Aruba/HPE, Cisco, Dell, Palo Alto or Juniper technologies.\n\nExposure to SD-WAN and hybrid networking environments.\nFamiliarity with Azure networking or cloud connectivity solutions.\nKnowledge of datacentre networking technologies such as VXLAN, EVPN or MLAG.\nExperience with telemetry, observability or performance monitoring platforms.\nExperience with scripting or automation.\nIndustry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, ACSP, ACMP, or PCNSA.\nDegree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.\nCurious and motivated to continuously develop technical knowledge and skills.\nProactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and resolving issues.\nAble to balance operational responsibilities with project-based work.\nCommitted to continuous learning and professional development.\nWhy work with us?\nYearly Performance Bonus\nHybrid & Flexible Work: One remote day per week\nGenerous Time Off: Three weeks of vacation to recharge, plus three personal days and eight sick days to use when you need them most\nRetirement Benefits: Excellent 401k match program - contribute up to 5%, and we’ll match up to 7%!\nComprehensive Healthcare: Medical, dental, vision, and supplemental benefits to support you and your family’s wellbeing\nParental Support: Paid parental leave for all parents, plus fertility care coverage to support every unique journey\nWellness & Wellbeing: EAP and Wellness Program to support mental and emotional wellbeing, with a free, onsite fitness center to help you stay active\nFree Lunches: Take a break from meal prep - we provide lunch three days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays)!\nLearning and Development\nAt Viridien, we foster a culture of continuous learning and provide tailored training programs through our Learning Hub, designed to enhance technical, commercial, and personal growth.\nWe Care About The Environment\nWe encourage and actively support a strong sense of community, through volunteering and various company initiatives, as well as a strong company commitment to protecting our environment through sustainable solutions, energy saving and waste reduction enterprises.\nOur Hiring Process\nAt Viridien, we are committed to delivering a respectful, inclusive, and transparent recruitment experience.\nDue to the high volume of applications we receive, we may not be able to provide individual feedback to every applicant.
