We play a crucial role in supporting the UK's climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources.\nWe have an opportunity in Ardley for a Weighbridge Operator to join our team working 40 hours per week - A week of earlies 06:30 till 15:00hrs followed by a week of lates 10:30hrs to 19:00hrs. Also working the one Saturday in six as an early shift.\nThe salary for this role will be £33,335.04 per year,inclusive of shift allowance and location allowance, and participation in an annual bonus scheme,in addition to our great range of benefits.\nThe closing date for applications is 6th December 2026. We encourage all applicants to apply as soon as possible as we may close vacancies early if we receive a high number of applications.\nWe're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Weighbridge Operator to join our Operations Team at Ardley ERF.\nAs the first point of contact for drivers, contractors and visitors arriving on site, you'll be responsible for the efficient operation of the weighbridge and associated administration systems. You'll ensure accurate recording of vehicle movements, waste transfers and customer transactions while maintaining compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation.\nThis is a varied role that combines customer service, administration and operational support within a busy energy recovery facility.\nKey Responsibilities\nOperate the weighbridge accurately and efficiently for all incoming and outgoing vehicles.\nProcess waste deliveries and ensure documentation complies with site permit requirements.\nOperate the weighbridge computer system and other operational databases.\nEnsure correct customer charging and accurate record keeping.\nProduce reports and maintain operational records within required timescales.\nWelcome and direct drivers, contractors and visitors in a professional manner.\nManage site admissions, visitor sign-in processes and delivery records.\nIdentify and report any discrepancies or infringements relating to waste transfer documentation.\nEnsure visitors and drivers comply with site safety rules and PPE requirements.\nSupport wider site operations and undertake additional duties as required.\nAbout You\nEssential Skills & Experience\nExperience within the waste, transport, haulage or logistics sectors.\nStrong computer literacy and confidence using operational systems.\nExcellent customer service skills.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nFull UK Driving Licence.\nDesirable Skills & Experience\nPrevious weighbridge operation experience.\nExperience using weighbridge or gatehouse administration systems.\nKnowledge of Viridor Gatehouse/Skipman systems.\nExperience using Microsoft Excel and Word.\nGCSEs (or equivalent qualifications).\nExperience working in a flexible and adaptable environment.\nHow to apply\nClick apply at the bottom of the page and you will be asked to create a profile.
